As a longtime lover of Japanese cuisine, I always find myself searching for places that can capture the true spirit of freshness, balance, and craftsmanship. Last night, I found just that — and perhaps even more. The evening began with a simple yet exquisite starter: sweet shrimp paired with thin slices of crisp cucumber. The shrimp was tender with a subtle, natural sweetness, while the cucumber added a refreshing, clean crunch — a perfect prelude to what was to come. The sashimi arrived next, and with just one bite, I knew I had found something special. The salmon was unbelievably fresh, silky, and rich, dissolving effortlessly on the tongue. It's no exaggeration to say this was the best salmon sashimi I’ve had since arriving in Texas. The eel rice was equally memorable — warm, savory, and layered with flavor, each grain soaking up the essence of the tender, buttery eel. The Mongolian beef, with its hearty chew and deeply savory notes, added a bold contrast to the meal, satisfying in a way only truly well-prepared beef can. Beyond the food, the experience was elevated by the people and the place itself. The owner greeted us with heartfelt warmth, and every server who passed by did so with a smile and genuine attentiveness. The interior was tastefully designed — a space that felt both intimate and stylish, ideal for a quiet date night or a lively evening with friends. We ended with a scoop of ice cream that was luxuriously creamy and smooth, melting slowly in the mouth, each spoonful a perfect finish. Even the drinks showed thoughtfulness and care. It’s rare to find a place that gets everything right — the food, the service, the atmosphere. But here, every element worked in harmony. A true hidden gem. 10/10 — a place I will be recommending to everyone who asks where to find the best Japanese food in town.

Came here for the first time. Sat at the Sushi bar hoping for some interaction with the Sushi Chef but he wasn’t at his station much. We were here between 6:00 and 7:00 on a Friday night and there were very few customers. When we left there were only 2 other tables. The Server, Madison was friendly and attentive. The Sushi was good, not great. I ordered a roll with Shrimp Tempura and the shrimp had been sitting a while and was not freshly fried. The Sushi bar was filthy. Zoom in on the pictures for proof. The Soy Sauce bottle was dirty also. These should be cleaned daily, and more often if necessary. Three of the booths in the restaurant appear to be used for storage and employees clutter. We wanted to pay with an electronic Gift Card and the Sushi Chef said that we could only use one per visit. It doesn’t say this anywhere on the certificate or the website when we bought it. We will be contacting the Gift Certificate company also, and ask them to include this in the fine print. They have an extensive menu and lots of specialties I had never heard of. They have great prices on their lunch specials. We will be back to try those and hope the kitchen is kept cleaner. The Front House Staff was friendly. Good location, easy to find, lots of parking.

I will not be ordering again. I had high expectations from the reviews and ordered for delivery. They came earlier than expected. The price was affordable. The vegetables of my wonton soup were old and same goes for the vegetable tempura. The beef in the wonton soup was slimy. The outside of the containers smelled weird. I couldn't place the smell but it smelled like the very bottom of the container sat on a dirty table, kind of like rat piss. They don't clean the shrimp of the shrimp tempura. The miso soup was just okay. The sushi it came with was lack luster. I had the shrimp and vegetable tempura lunch bento and a large house wonton soup. Only 3 wontons came in my wonton soup. One of them didn't taste right. The broth was bland. The fried rice with the bento was nothing special. The vegetables of the tempura were oily, soggy, and also appeared to be old. The only positive thing was the delivery driver because I had it delivered.

*I want to update this review. The owner or manager texted me an apology for the problems in service I experienced and even offered a free meal. The waitress acknowledged that they forgot my eggroll and tried to catch me but I had already driven off. I do think this shows a level of caring for their customers, which surprised me.

I have eaten at Imperial many times and used to enjoy having food delivered before they stopped. The food is usually very good, and perhaps the service is good if you eat in the restaurant. Around 5:00pm today, I went online and ordered Curbside Service. It asked for a description of my car, which I gave. I drove up & parked right in front of a large sign that says Curbside Service. I got out in the rain & found that the door was locked & when I looked inside I saw chairs & stuff stacked up & no lights on! Even though there is a sign on the door saying, Open. So, I had to walk through the rain & move my car to the front door. Then I went inside & picked up my food. When I got home, there were no egg rolls, even though I paid for them! If they don't want to provide curbside service, then they should remove that option from their website and remove the large sign from their side door! I regret leaving a tip for such poor service & no egg rolls and...
