Now I know this is a new restaurant and I will try it again maybe in a month or so when they get a little more of a routine down but I was disappointed in my first visit to the Local Tavern. The good, the burgers were very good. They weren’t cooked to desth (a solid medium), the pretzels were excellent!! The not so good: The server didn’t know the menu. There were no paper menus so if you are not on Facebook or don’t have a phone, no menu for you. The first 3 things I tried to order they were out of. I understand running out of stuff. But the menu offers “house made onion rings” and there’s a Walmart 200 yards away, they sell onions. The menu and what comes out of the kitchen are 2 entirely different things. Kids mini cheeseburgers, menu says you get 2, we only got 1. I got the loaded fries because they were out of boneless wings. The menu reads “choice of pulled pork or chicken”. I chose the pulled chicken. It was pre cooked, pre sliced, pre seasoned processed chicken, not pulled chicken. The menu also said there was queso, jalapeños and onion on the fries. ( I also found it strange they had onions for the loaded fries and hamburgers but not for the onion rings) when I got the fries there was a dollop of sour cream and diced tomatoes on it (not mentioned on the menu) I do not like raw tomato or cold sour cream on hot food. Dirty plates were never bussed and I was never asked why I only took two bites of my food and didn’t want a to go box. I was disappointed in the value as well. $16 for a cheeseburger and a coke is kind of steep. The patty was between a quarter and a third pound but seemed small. Owning and running and working in a restaurant is not an easy feat. I’ve done it, for almost 40 years and I hope that this is just growing pains from opening their first restaurant. At least I hope that it’s their first or there is no excuse for these problems. Train your staff better, get everyone on the same page as far as food and menu ingredients are concerned and for god’s sake,...
Read moreWell, I really don’t know what to put here but here goes. First off, there was no wait for a table because the place was empty at 6:30 pm. There is ZERO ATMOSPHERE and no online menu prices available. We ordered the fried pickles and we got eight thin plank style slices about 3-4 inches long and 1/2 of a soufflé cup of ranch for 2 people for the price of $10. (I thought we were at a pub not the county fair.) We both ordered the 3 slider basket for $14.99, we received three tiny sliders each and some fries. If you didn’t know that they had some sort of meat product in them you’d be looking for it. Not very appetizing. I had the blue cheeseburger sliders and I did not taste one bit of bleu cheese. I opened up one to look for the bleu cheese, and found a few sprinkles. The only thing that’s $10 I think on the menu is the kids meals and a few selected appetizers. Average meal price for two people is around $50, (and we had water to drink) Not very much food for the price. OK,,, Here’s the caveat… They charge a 3% fee for using a credit or debit card. This is called by the IRS As circumventing fees and is a form of tax evasion. In a nutshell, small amounts of food for high prices, you’d better pay with cash or you’re paying 3% more. First and last time I’ll be visiting. A...
Read moreListen, I’m not saying The Local Tavern changed my life… but I am saying those fried mushrooms 🍄🟫 and onion 🧅 rings deserve their own reality show. These appetizers didn’t just arrive at my table—they made an entrance. The mushrooms were so juicy and perfectly crispy I considered writing them a thank-you note. And those onion rings? CRUNCHIER than my ex’s attitude and sweeter than my grandma’s tea. I’m pretty sure they were hand-battered by angels. 👼
But let’s talk about the real MVP of the night: Brittany, our server, comedic genius, and part-time life coach. This woman had me laughing so hard I nearly choked on a mushroom (a noble way to go, honestly). Her timing was impeccable—both with the food and the jokes. She could moonlight as a stand-up comic and still keep your drink full and your sides aching (from both the food and the laughter).
She didn’t just take care of our table—she entertained it like she was hosting a variety show. If The Local Tavern sold “Team Brittany” merch, I’d buy three shirts and a bumper sticker.
So if you’re in Bryant and not eating at The Local Tavern, what are you doing with your life? Order the fried apps. Tip Brittany like she just saved your soul. And prepare to have a...
