Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen — Restaurant in Buckeye

On Sunday December 22nd around 4:30pm I had the worst experience at this location and will never go back. I was warned by others about the lack of service but figured I would try it myself. I entered the drive thru and not a person was behind me but was asked to pull around front as I did. I ordered three small simple meal in which it should’ve taken no more than 5 minutes. They handed me the 3 drinks I ordered that were all just plain ice tea. As I waited out front I took a sip of my tea and realized they were all 3 sweet tea. My daughter went in the restaurant and switched them out and came back out with the drinks I ordered but they didn’t feel I needed any ice in any of them.

By this point it had been 10 minutes no food still so I decided to go into the restaurant which was not busy at all. They had one car in the drive way and a couple with a child inside and that was all. The kids behind the cook counter were flirting and whispering. The guy at the main register and the young man at the drive through were standing around like they had no idea what’s going on. I explained to the man at the register that I was waiting for my food still and told him what I ordered and at this point it had been 15 minutes now after waiting for the other couple. They both wanted to bicker about who’s fault it was and what was going on as the two kids in the back where still just standing around flirting very clear to see from the counter.

Then I waited another 5 minutes for them to hand me my bags. They finally gave me order and as I checked it I realized it was wrong they handed me chicken nuggets when I ordered chicken wings again the two men wanted to bicker about what the receipt said. The kid put in chicken no bone at the drive thru not chicken wings. So then he fixed that after waiting a few more minutes again. Then I asked them where the other mashed potatoes were that I ordered and once again the two men wanted to bicker about what the receipt stated. Then the man at the register came back to the counter and told me well you got fry’s and not mash potatoes because the receipt said fry’s. I told the older man at the counter I’m done I don’t care what the receipt says any more because obviously no one knows what they doing. I ordered 3 small easy meals and should not have been there longer than 30 minutes and arguing over my order. I just wanted my order that I ordered and I wanted to just leave at this moment. So then he decided to grab my potatoes with gravy and hand them to me. Just because the gentleman at both counters couldn’t communicate or get along that should not be a customer issue. I ordered 1 two piece plain chicken meal with mashed potatoes and gravy 1 spicy chicken sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy. And 1 spicy chicken wing meal with mashed potatoes potato’s.

The owner of this location might want to invest in better employees or it will not last or take the time to work your company yourself to see what’s going on in...

Avoid this location at all costs. I'm used to any chicken place being slow and often messing up orders, but this location brings another level of absurdity to the table.

Ordered on the app, selected ASAP pickup. Knowing that last time I did that I had to tell them I was here to pickup before they would start my order, so I wasn't shocked when that was the case this time. After waiting two minutes for anyone to come to the counter and acknowledge me the employee looked at the order and said it'll take 6 minutes for the spicy tenders and called back to the kitchen to drop them. So I step aside to wait. As I was waiting I overhear the team joking about a woman ordering that was asking for fresh fries and the softest biscuits they had. Low and behold that was an omen of things to come. Fast forward about 10 minutes and still no food, but hey it's late I understand. Turns out the team lead was sitting in the dining area and he was asking back to the kitchen what was taking so long. He apologized once. All I heard from the kitchen was spicy tenders, I never did find out what the delay was. Another 7 minutes go by and the team lead gets up, walks back there and then comes back, no update, no acknowledgement. Another 10 minutes go by and the lead gets up again and goes to the kitchen. A little bit later and the food shows up, I did a quick scan and the number of boxes seemed right and there were sauce packets in the bag, so I took it and headed back home. If the delays were the worst of it, I might have let it go, but unfortunately they messed up almost everything else.

The wings were supposed to be honey barbecue, and they did have the honey barbecue sauce on them but they also appeared to be the ghost pepper wings just coated in honey bbq. The person who got the meal only ate two before they had to give up. The spicy tenders were either a mixed or a bad batch because less than half tasted any different than regular tenders. The blackened chicken sandwich was either reheated or just old because it had a rubbery texture and didn't taste like any previous blackened chicken sandwich I have had. I hope the customer they were joking about got what she wanted because it appeared I got the hard biscuits and cold fries. And to top it all off they didn't even include the right sauce packet, similar color, completely different taste.

If I ever dare to try Popeyes again, it will definitely never be this location.

Believe the reviews...this is a horrible location. They are slow and rude. Drive thru order 1 family meal and small hot wings. Was told to pull around front to wait for wings "be about 4 minutes ' 20 mins later I walk into the store and ask for my food. The woman at the counter snatched my receipt and starts dumping chicken in a box, however I see my order sitting on the counter at the drive thru window. The manager/owner I assume since he is in plain clothes stops her and said no she is just waiting for wings. He proceeds to put the wings in a box. She looks annoyed and dumps the chicken back in the warmer. I walk out and ofcourse there is no sauce. My husband walks back in for the sauce and that takes another 3 minutes for the same rude/annoyed woman to get them. At home the chicken is not warm, the wings are ghost wings he said they only make ghost pepper. However in another surprise box are plain wings. The biscuits are hard and cold. The chicken is so dry and flavorless. I'm sorry but this is one of the worst places I have visited. Save your time and money and go somewhere else. I don't understand why they seemed so chaotic. Looked like plenty of staff. Only 1 car in front of me and 3 cars in the parking lot. Clearly they need new managers as he seemed clueless and very stressed, staff need training.
