MOD Pizza — Restaurant in Buckeye

Pains me to leave MOD a 1 star. Love this place typically but this location needs a managerial overhaul to the point I was tempted to walk behind the counter and help.

First visit. 40 minutes. Pizza was given to the wrong person and they actually asked me if i wanted the other persons pizza who got mine... I said thats fine if it is the same pizza but it wasnt even the same order. Had to remake it and finally got my order. Pizza was great! No complaints outside of waiting for an extended period of time.

Second visit. 45 minutes and no pizza to show for it. The pizza went into the oven. I walked over to cafe rio and walk back and my box is sitting there open waiting for the pizza to be dropped in it. Wait and wait. Mind you that 14 others were waiting as well and a lot of customers were becoming highly agitated and began asking for managers and claiming they were hung up on. The odd thing was they had at least 6 employees working but it was clear that they were not well managed. No teamwork or assembly line effort. Everyone was everywhere.

After 30 minutes I asked where my pizza was and pointed to the box and they couldn't find it... they asked if I wanted it remade. I looked around and it was clear it wasn't going to work out so I asked for a refund. The manager comes up and proceeds to take 5 minutes staring at the screen then without word just walks away and goes to the back to make a phone call (assuming another escalated customer). She comes back out and proceeds to put pizza orders together... I went over to her and just said... I don't want to yell and make a scene. I just need my money back so I can go home and forget this ever happened.

After another 10 plus minutes looking through orders she finally gets me the refund.

Just a brutal experience and really unfortunate.

There is much more I am leaving out but I made my peace and really hope they sort it out because MOD pizza is great. (Won't be going back to this location again though even though it is a 1 min drive...

Okay. We ordered ahead using online website of mod pizza. It was a 9 pizza order for guests at our party. The Order receipt emailed after placing order stated our order would be ready @ 6:55pm, 35 minutes after placing order. We arrived at location to pickup @6:50pm. We Notified the pickup area employee of our arrival and took a seat to wait. At 7:28 pm we asked an employee the status of our order since we had been waiting almost 40 minutes after the expected ready time of our order. She stated that there was several other orders ahead of ours and it would be a short wait. The Employee stated our order has not even been made by the prep line. I asked to speak to a manager. She stated there is NO manager on duty tonight. Not sure why there is no manager on duty on a Saturday evening, but she told me a shift lead is available. I spoke with a shift lead who told me my order was 3rd in line to be made and that they are busy and needed to press more dough. She offered no apology or sympathy for the fact that We have been waiting almost 40 minutes after the time given that the order would be ready and the pizzas still haven’t even been prepared. Finally at 7:52pm they called our name and gave us our order. We ordered 9 pizzas for a total of $120.00 for a party and were super late with the food for the guests. This was not a pleasant experience at all!!

Honestly love how nice they are here to me! Me and my Girlfriend usually come here near closing time as that’s when we get off from work. Everytime we come in there always so nice and it’s nice having a place with dairy free products ESPECIALLY pizza as we both are lactose. I love the temperature in there especially how cold it gets is so nice , it really makes it nice just sitting in there and escaping the heat! The Service is even better, our recent experience really topped it off! We went about 2 nights ago before closing as we do feel bad because they are about to leave but they always give us a nice warm welcome In! As they are usually occupied I’m always more than happy to wait as long as needed because there always working so hard and I like having conversations with all of them! But they were so darn nice and very patient with our request as we both spoke gibberish for like a solid minute as we were just so tired and they were so patient and nice with us! And the young man who cooks and watches the pizza (blonde curly hair , very tall) cooks it so perfectly and makes it SO darn good! He always gives us extra sauce and always helps us with our order ! Love it ! There were 2 other young ladies ( 1 usually wears like a head band that’s colorful and another with glasses and some piercings) VERY nice to us and even gave us a free large drink! Can’t wait to come...
