September 2022 We had a bad experience at Hart's Tavern today. We were a table of 5 today and were sat at a booth for 4 people so the table was crowded. Then when the food came out the waitress dropped ketchup on my son. We had to take him to the bathroom and try to clean him up. After that the waitress just dropped off napkins and ignored our table. I would have ordered more to drink but she stayed away. I asked for water when she was clearing the table. To top it off she never apologized for the clear accident and never offered to take something off the bill. She could have taken my son's kids meal off to be nice for dropping ketchup on him. Just a complete lack of sympathy and forgiveness. We have been coming here for years and likely won't return. ***UPDATE*** May 2022 New menu released for Hart's. They completely revamped it. Mac and Cheese removed from the kids menu. The French Fries are scoop shaped. I like them a lot. Food was excellent. September 2021 Fall has arrived and Hart's has menu specials for the season. I took advantage of the Carrot Cake. It was excellent. Hart's continues to provide fantastic service and food. July 2021 Another great lunch at Hart's Tavern. We visited Saturday the 31st and enjoyed our meal. I tried a Manhattan and it was fantastic. For my meal I had the Hart's Burger, the wife had a Chicken Sandwich, while the kids had Chicken Tenders and Mac & Cheese. Of course they had the ice cream at the end of the meal. We always stop here when in Peddlers Village. May 2021 Had a great lunch again at Hart's Tavern. The weather was definitely keeping the crowds away but we couldn't resist. Great service and food as always. Too much food to finish. Kids loved it. January 2021 While I have been to Hart's Tavern many times I wanted to post about my recent visit. Our family had a great experience as usual. The staff is very friendly and everyone was properly wearing their masks. We were seated immediately which is a bit unusual but understandable as indoor dining just started back up and people may have changed their dining habits. The drinks came out quick as well as the food. Everything was great. We were seated well enough away from the other occupied tables which was expected. The ketchup came out with the meals in small individual plastic portion cups so be sure to ask your server for more if you use a lot. Other than that the experience was very similar to other times just not nearly as busy as I am used to. Things were starting to pick up as we were finishing lunch. We had a great time and will be back.

A little hidden gem! We needed a good spot for a casual bite to eat for dinner late on a Tuesday night, but many places nearby were closed. Peddler's Village, typically bustling, was eerily quiet. Thankfully Hart's was open. The atmosphere is charming, a bit nostalgic in its old-timey way, but without feeling dated. The tavern wasn't busy and an inquiry about the IPA on tap was quickly answered with a generous sample. I ultimately went with a bottled brew, but the ample taste test was very appreciated. A "light" dinner for two included the hummus platter starter and a roadhouse burger. The menu is a little smaller now than before, but that was no surprise amid the pandemic. The hummus platter included pita chips, cucumber slices, carrot sticks, and celery; there was nothing too special there, but the hummus itself was particularly delicious with an extra sprinkle of seasoning and olive oil. To balance out such a well-meaning appetizer, we told our server we would split the roadhouse cheddar burger. To our delight, the kitchen pre-split it, with a generous portion of skin-on french fries on each plate! And a gigantic pickle slice for each as well. I've never told a restaurant I'd be splitting a dish to have it served pre-split, with all of the extras added in such a manner. The burger was incredibly indulgent and cooked exactly as requested. We didn't have to ask for ketchup, either, as each plate came with a ramekin. My tip - dip the fries in the hummus. It's worth it! We ordered a dessert to go and were happy to bring some home. Staff was pleasant and seemed delighted to have some business on an otherwise slow night. I would have no hesitation in returning for a beer and a burger in the future!

First visit on Sunday 11/12 at 2:00 p.m. The place was mobbed. The 3 hostesses that were seating people did zero to greet people as they came in the door and were met with a line. A line to place your name on a list or a line to wait for a table to open up? Your guess is as good as ours and those that came in behind us. Within a 1/2 hour we were seated and greeted by a very tired looking waitress. We ordered 2 different appetizers ( fried pickles & mozzarella sticks). The menu advertised 8 mozzarella sticks, but there were only 7. Nothing fancy with the mozzarella sticks as they seemed to have come from the freezer. The fried pickles could have been made on the premises, but both were average. Lunch was salads for both my husband and I. I ordered the Apple salad which came with huge bib lettuce leaves that had to be cut vs. having been torn before assembling the salad would have made eating it much easier. There were grapes in this salad, 4 to be exact! Two where already cut in half when I received the salad and 2 were left whole. There was hardly any apple included (perhaps 1/4 of a small apple) and after eating the entire bland salad I couldn't put my finger on what was missing to give it flavor, oh yeah, the blue cheese crumbles that were supposed to be on it. I only learned this after looking up the menu online as we waited for our waitress to return to our table. My husband's Caesar was just average too. Overall, this place is busy because it is one of the few dining options for people visiting the shops at Peddlers Village. The food and service was mediocre at best. This was our first visit to Peddlers Village and we came to use a food gift certificate that we were given. After being less than impressed with our dining experience we have no desire to come back...
