Delicious!! Family dinner tonight with my wife and teenage daughter and we were not disappointed. COVID-19 rules were still in effect so the dining room was a little spread out but we were fine with this precaution. The waiter, Frank, was friendly, very attentive and made our experience delightful by sharing a few laughs and witty chat. Sorry again, but no pics. I have to remember to stop myself, and take a pic before I dig in. LOL
It is BYOB, so remember to bring your favorite beverage. They start you off with some warm bread and flavorful olive oil for dipping, followed by the most amazing "bean salad". Its white beans, celery, olive oil, tomato and a side of parboiled carrots slices drizzled with olive oil. The taste is much better than my description.
The menu is classic Italian, and there is a wide variety of items. From pasta to fish, shellfish, veal or chicken each item sounds even better than the next. Salads as well as other appetizers adorn the menu. Of course, my daughter who considers herself a Calamari connoisseur gave it a whopping double thumbs up and my wife loved the marinara sauce that came with it.
Between the three of us, we had ordered Eggplant Parmesan, Penne ala Vodka and Arrabbiata Pasta with Shrimp (I counted 8 nice sized shrimp). The portions were very good and we now have some Eggplant and Penne Vodka for lunch tomorrow. Don't miss out on the desserts and coffee. A nice selection of dessert at a very reasonable price. We had a chocolate layer cake and Lemon Sorbet each around $6.
Overall, it was a great meal and very enjoyable dining experience. The prices were in my opinion average for similar restaurants.
Although we ate indoor, due to COVID they also had a very nice outdoor seating area which had tables with umbrellas and lighting all around. I think more people were enjoying al fresco dining than indoor.
I would definitely return, and even my teen voted for another visit in the...
Read moreI recently dined at your restaurant with friends, and unfortunately, my experience was marred by an encounter with the manager. As I was leaving, he stopped me and expressed dissatisfaction with the tip I left, insinuating that the standard is 28%, 50%, or even more. I was taken aback and felt singled out.
I find it disheartening that such an incident occurred, and I can't help but wonder if it's because of my Asian background or gender. Tipping is a personal choice, and I believe it's unfair to expect everyone to adhere to a specific percentage.
I am genuinely disappointed that my evening was tarnished by this encounter. I gave a tip of over ten dollars, considering my own financial constraints. The upcoming holiday season was cited as a reason to give more, but it's disheartening when no one seems to consider the challenges I face in my own life.
In my opinion, public humiliation is not an acceptable response to a tip that falls below certain expectations. Tipping is not a legally mandated obligation, and I feel offended by the manager's actions. I had hoped for a pleasant evening, especially considering the difficulties in my life. Unfortunately, this encounter has left me with a negative impression.
I urge others to think twice before choosing this restaurant, as my experience has left me feeling disrespected and unwelcome. Everyone has their own financial constraints, and I believe no one should be subjected to embarrassment for the personal choices they make...
Read moreMy family & I dined here today and while the food was okay, not awful but very run of the mill, the service we received specifically from the Assistant Manager was abhorrent. My daughters and I have a dairy allergy. I approached the Assistant Manger to ask if the bread that was served had dairy in it. He responded by saying, “How should I know? I don’t bake. Do you?” I was completely disgusted by his attitude and his answer but politely I told him that my daughters and I both have allergies and asked him to check. He replied with a more or less grumble of “I’ll see what I can do.” When he “checked” he came back to our table and said, again with a ton of attitude and complete disregard, that he has no idea whether or not there is dairy in the bread and it’s brought in by a vendor. At this point I had just about had it with his attitude and his complete disregard for a patron in his restaurant with allergies and informed him that I have NEVER been to restaurant that they couldn’t tell me what was in the food they were serving and kindly reminded him that people can actually die from food allergies and that his lack of knowledge and care was completely and totally unacceptable, especially as an Assistant Manager. We certainly will never be dining here again and I would strongly caution anyone with allergies, food intolerance, or other dietary restrictions before choosing...
