Let's start first with the atmosphere, love it. This is exactly the kind of old school diner that I love. They get bonus points for staying true to that vibe.
Next we can talk about the excellent service the staff here provide, they are friendly and seem to really care about their customers.
Unfortunately the food is where it fell short for me. The rodeo burger was great, cheese and saucy, just the way it should be. However, the fried chicken sandwich was bland, had no flavor... the breading needed seasoning for sure, and that bland chicken ruined the whole sandwich for me. The onion rings were better than average, as it didn't have the stringy stuff that makes you pull out the whole onion when you bite in, good for them on that... but again the batter was sorta bland.
Lastly was Wally's sauce, let's talk about this for a minute.... I have a bone to pick with these places, everyone claiming to have their secret sauce... Normas, Big Tom's, Bob's, Frisko Freeze, Shake Shake Shake... I could go on.... ITS ALWAYS THE SAME SAUCE. Some variation of mayo, ketchup, mustard, and relish, Worcestershire, and garlic powder. Can we please come together and just make this known so they stop charging us extra for the secret sauce. Please, we don't get charged for ketchup, or mustard or mayo, it's not a secret, everybody has it... Ok rant over...
Anyway go here, it's reasonably priced, friendly, cool vibe... Just don't get the bland...
Read moreWe’re from Post Falls, Idaho and thought it sounded and looked like a good local place to eat on our trip to the coast…boy were we wrong! Don’t know how they’ve been in business 33 yrs…fish was definitely NOT “famous” and we guarantee we could’ve got better food and service @ Zip’s Drive in! Especially for the price! $$$ To top it off they forgot my wife’s fries after she asked the “immature little girl w/too many feelings” who took our order, “fries are separate?” “Ok id also like ranch to dip them in!” So we get our order and got the ranch and no fries, my wife goes in and the “little girl” makes a scene and says “you didn’t order fries” my wife then explains “ why did I get ranch then? To dip my burger in?” Wife comes out pissed with NO fries! WTF?! So I go in and speak to the “Manager” because I just paid $54 and tipped $6, and I want what we ordered! The manager says my wife made the “ little girl” cry and this is very concerning to her, I told her what’s concerning is what you charge and can’t even get the order right and further more is why you’d hire and NOT train a “little girl w/ too many emotions & feelings” a shred of customer service…long story short, we got the fries and an extra ranch (apparently to dip the burger in! lol) Left and WILL...
Read moreWallys has always 5 stars across-the-board. I first ate at the Des Moines location in 1996 and have been coming back to both locations ever since. Tonight was different. My food ticket never printed or was lost in the kitchen so I waited at least double the normal time. About 20-25 min. That didn't happen bother me though cuz stuff happens. I ordered 2 burgers and fries. I also ordered the fried pickles and was excited to try them. When the cashier, who was awesome, brought my good out to me, she said its super hot so hurry home. Which I did. But when I got home the dipping sauce was in the bag but no pickles. Bummer but again. I get it. Stuff happens and I'll just call them and get my name on a list for my next visit. But what finally set me off is they have a phone number attached to Google maps and im not sure why.. I called 7 times and it rang 5 times exactly was hung up on. No answering machine. No one picks up. There were only 3 cars in the parking lot when I left. So unless a school bus of kids showed up after I left 30 min ago, there were ample people who could've answered the phone. What's going on guys? Do better. Pretend like customer service is important. If not, your business will suffer. Man I'm...
