Holy cow. Talk about a rude and very unwelcome and unpleasant trip to the Freddy's in Buda. From the manager to the employees. I guess it starts with the wrong leader to lead a bad team. I have been to several different Freddy's locations from San Antonio to Round Rock. I make the exact same order at every location. Including the one in Buda. Today unfortunately I was tried with an attitude and a chip on their shoulders . I simply ordered -a mini concrete cup. I specifically said what I want is in the cup but not a concrete. I don't want the mix. Put a layer of strawberry. A layer of chocolate. Another layer of strawberry. Then a layer of Vanilla on the top. I explained I don't want it mixed. Then some of the other clowns stepped up. Trying to tell me they don't have strawberry ice cream. And just being as ignorant as possible to explain. Then another person said they couldn't fix my order. I asked why? Just don't mix it up. I explained I have gotten this exact same thing here before and every location I go. The manager was trying to be a smart ass and wanted me to tell her who. Like I know the people there. I told her whoever was the person that took my order. Everyone was getting rude and trying to belittle the order and making a very simple order and process complicated. I asked for the corporate number and everyone turned and walked away in fear at this moment. I saw the so-called manager walk off with her phone. Never said a word to me.
I left the store and attempted to call. The manager answered and then wanted to argue more over the phone. She then wanted to threaten me with video and audio. I told her that would be perfect then they would understand more clearly. I was trying to explain my side of the situation and she would not stop talking over me. I got so frustrated with her I just told her never mind I can get the number on my own another way. I hung the phone up and tried to find an email to complain. I found a corporate number but no email. I will be following up with a formal complaint. The young kids are not as entitled as they think they are and I know customers are not always right. But the level of rudeness that was shown to me is uncalled for and should be dealt with on a higher level. A very dissatisfied, debating on whether still loyal customer. It takes a thousand good stories to build a good reputation. It only takes one bad story to ruin a...
Read moreAn important takeaway that I would like to come from this review is that the general manager Chris cares about this place and its customers. After 2 DoorDash trips and multiple phone calls, my order was still wrong and Chris drove out to my house to give me the rest of my order himself. He really lifted my and my kids' spirits.
As for the rest of my experience, Do Not DoorDash Freddy's. I will never get back this 3 hours of my life. My assumption is that they're leaving the custards in the customer-facing freezer (which is great) but then expecting Dashers to actually read the order and go get them. The 2 dashers who came to my door had absolutely no idea what my order even was and 1 of them spoke no English at all. Any business owner knows full well that operations & processes MUST be seamless bc common sense is not common. This location needs to figure out how to guide the food & still frozen custard to the Dasher seamlessly.
To add further insult to my experience, when the 2nd Dasher arrived with the wrong custards, she called Freddy's to figure things out with me. A young lady on the phone had the bright idea that I should just come pick up my own order. Me and the Dasher locked eyes at exactly the same time bc she'd been listening to my sick kids screaming and trying to help keep 1 of my completely naked runny-nosed toddlers from running out onto the porch. Dasher tells the Freddy's employee "no she can't" and the employee says "I mean...so she literally can't just come pick it up?" This is when Chris called my phone to offer to bring the custard to me personally. I don't know whether to blame the hiring manager or the internet for the young lady employee's complete disconnection from reality but I recommend retraining that one or banning her...
Read moreMy wife likes this place. But can you PLEASE decide whether you serve lettuce wrapped burgers or not?
It's on the menu now, it says yes. I'm on a low carb diet and quite appreciate it when they do provide that, but every single time it is a gamble. Day by day, cashier by cashier, they either can or cannot serve me something I can eat and there is no telling before I order.
It makes it really hard to decide to go there or not when I cannot know if my favorite item on the menu will be available that day.
When they aren't doing them I can still get a bunless burger in a box to eat with a knife and fork but it is a much worse experience and it doesn't work for when I am driving of don't have a stable consistent place to sit like when we are headed to a park or something (which is most of the time we might think about stopping)
But it's the teasing that is the worst part. Places like Burger King never do lettuce wraps and I can accept that, if I go there I know I have to make other plans. But getting my hopes up and then dashing...
