UPDATE: These are some of the nicest people making super delicious food. Order take out, support this delightful business. Restaurants we love need our support in these days.
Disclaimer: I am by no means an experienced diner when it comes to Indian cuisine.
I've been here twice this month with friends. Both times the whole party was happy with their food, with one exception of there maybe being more oil than preferable in the vegetarian curry.
I ordered a lentil dish my first time, which I thought was good, if maybe a Little boring, (but it's my own fault for ordering lentils when I was hoping for something exciting!) and the second time I ordered the Tikka with paneer. This was one of my first times having Tikka (I'm not an expert in Indian food!), so I don't have a lot to judge against, BUT: I think they named their restaurant after this type of dish for a reason. A VERY good reason.
I'm looking forward to going back and trying more things on the menu, ...or maybe just getting more Tikka! (But I'll DEFINITELY be getting more of their fresh baked naan!)
(I ordered my food with a medium amount of spice both times. The heat is not something that hits you in the face, so to speak, but is a long, warming spicy that builds slowly...
Read moreNot an exaggeration, some of the best comfort food I've EVER had. Have been working in restaurants since I was 15 years old. Over the years, certainly have developed a palate for fine food. My vacations are planned around dining at some of the most awarded spots and/or chefs.
Let me tell you... I can't go a month without eating this food. I NEVER get sick of it. The flavors hit every craving: savory, spicy, creamy, and a heavy punch of deliciousness.
Here is my GO-TO order:
1.) Paneer Tikka Masala - Medium Spice (I prefer paneer, a soft cheese, similar consistency to Tofu. Would much rather have a melt-in-my-mouth experience than gnawing on chicken.) *This sauce you may want to drink with a straw, it's THAT good.
2.) Saag Paneer- Medium Spice (Another paneer dish, with creamy spinach) *THIS IS FIRE. I mean it. I dream of this. GET IT. My favorite dish of all time. What I order every birthday, holiday, or any self-induced excuse just to eat it.
3.) Garlic Naan - Duh.
In conclusion, you are living in a city that hosts one of the best kept secrets. This magical place. Plus, the owner, chefs, and staff are KIND, PLEASANT, and SMILE....what are the...
Read moreEnjoyed dinner here for the first time, certainly will not be the last! Potato samosa and Chicken 65 to start, the samosa was excellent...Crispy, flaky, not greasy at all, and great flavor. Served with tamarind, I wish it would have also been served with a mint chutney, however. The Chicken 65, made with chicken thighs...was very moist (sorry not sorry), flavorful, and just the right amount of heat...Enjoyed this very much! For dinner had the Chicken Naga (ordered Extra Hot) and the Bullet Naan....First off, you can smell that this is gunna pack some heat! What I thought smelled like ghost chili pepper was the Naga chili used in the dish. If you enjoy spicy food AND flavor, you'll love this dish! The heat did not take over the flavor, you could still taste everything and you got that punch from the chili. This was excellent and the raita added to the dish as well. The Bullet Naan was excellent, made with chilies (are you sensing a trend here?) it was the perfect accoutrements to the Chicken Naga...I'd give this place a 4.5/5 but Google doesn't allow half star ratings. How I never knew about this place until know is a travesty....will...
