Lovejoy Pizzeria: A Recipe for Disappointment

Lovejoy Pizzeria, located off Main Street, might be a convenient stop, but my recent experience suggests that any convenience is far outweighed by truly abysmal service, questionable hygiene, and surprisingly mediocre food. If you value your time, basic human decency, and a truly good meal, I strongly advise you to steer clear.

My ordeal began when I arrived to pick up my order. While the individual I spoke with on the phone was friendly and helpful, the man behind the counter retrieving orders was anything but. His demeanor was nothing short of hostile. There was no greeting, no "thank you," and certainly no "goodbye." When it came time to pay, he practically threw my payment onto the counter, a gesture that perfectly encapsulated the complete lack of respect for customers. This rude behavior alone is enough to deter anyone from returning.

Beyond the shocking lack of customer service, the state of the establishment itself was deeply concerning. The kitchen was visibly filthy, and to make matters worse, there were flies in the lobby. This raises serious questions about the overall cleanliness and food safety practices at Lovejoy Pizzeria. And the food? After enduring all of that, I had hoped for a redeeming culinary experience. Instead, the pizza was nothing special, utterly unremarkable and a letdown given the overall unpleasantness of the visit.

To add insult to injury, the chicken wings were also mediocre at best, tasting distinctly of old grease and lacking any discernible flavor. They were certainly not worth the poor service and unsanitary conditions. Frankly, you're better off paying a bit more for truly high-quality pizza and wings from a classier establishment that values its customers and maintains a clean environment. Called in my order, was put on hold a few times, thats okay they have a high rating, must be good food I thought. My food was ready when i arrived, it took a few moments longer to cash out then i would have thought but that not a deal breaker.

• Ordered the large cheese and Pepperoni and 20 wings special, requesting Medium and saucy wings . and extra blue cheese, carrots and celery. Coming in from out of town on a cold and snowy night , I thought this was a great treat to have some classic Buffalo pizza and Wings, Nope. Unfortunately the food was cold but thats on me. The wings were BONE dry and all drums, boo i love the flats, closer to 50/50 would have been appreciated, not to mention some generic Blue cheese from the Sysco truck. Celery only and they looked like a city rat got into them, all slimy with spoiled spots on them, So that was a bust. the Pizza was a little over done as indicated by the very brown bottom, but was crispy , plenty of good sauce and the prize winning cup and char pepperonis. .... I hope my experience was a fluke for the sake of Patrons who expected to have Buffalos best Pizza and wings made to order. But for this guy I highly suggest to try elsewhere. I called and placed an order today, gave them my credit card number and my phone number. They deliver to my building on the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus all the time, so I didn't think that there would be any issue. I was told that the order would be delivered within the hour, but when I called back an hour and twenty minutes later, I was told that no order had ever been placed. All I got was "I'm sorry, we could make the food now if you want." No indication that they would try to fix the error or resolve the issue, just "If you want to re-order and give us your credit card again, we MIGHT deliver it this time". Considering that every time I go over to the restaurant itself, everything seems all confused and everyone is running around like a chicken with their head cut off, today was the final straw. And I will be watching my credit card statement like a hawk to make sure I don't get charged for food that they say they never received...
