Having Cafe 59 just around the corner from my workplace is a delightful perk. It's rare to find a place nearby that offers such fantastic lunches at great value. This gem is surprisingly underrated. If more people were aware of its exceptional quality, there would surely be a queue out the door every day. As it stands, the cafe is a favorite among regulars, who often hold lunch meetings there and have their preferred dishes. Both the staff and the food consistently impress, leaving little room for complaints. My frequent visits have shown me their remarkable consistency. For first-timers, I highly recommend trying the chicken finger sandwich. However, these days I usually opt for the chicken Caesar salad - it's the ideal lunch that satisfies without inducing drowsiness.

Read moreLooking for a healthier option, my boyfriend and I stopped at Cafe 59 for a quick lunch at around 1:30 this afternoon. And let me say there was nothing quick about it. When we arrived, we were told to pick any table on the patio. There were 2 people dining at a table inside and 2 other diners on the patio accompanied by a very large dog. Needless to say, it wasn’t busy. The waitress came over to our table to take a drink order and seemed annoyed when we said we were good with water. She eventually took the order of the 2 gentlemen with the dog. They ordered for themselves and a separate well done burger for the dog. She then came to us. We ordered a wrap and a sandwich with nothing fancy or extra. Before we knew it, a snack arrived for the dog. Another 15 minutes went by. 2 other diners arrived. Their order was taken, and another snack was delivered to the dog. After another 15 minutes a second server brought silverware to everyone, but still no food. The guys finally got their lunches and she explained that the burger wasn’t quite done yet due to the well done temp. 10 minutes later that arrived, followed by the food for the 3rd table. Although annoyed, we patiently waited without attitude for another 10 minutes. Finally she arrived with more water saying the kitchen was just finishing up our order. It had been 45 minutes at this point, but we said sure, no problem. 13 minutes later, still no food, we got up and left. I could understand if it was busy or she had apologetically said she had forgotten. But neither of these were the case. If you’re looking for quick, friendly service, I suggest trying...
Read moreMyself and five other coworkers checked out Cafe 59 for lunch. Our experience their was disastrous. Our experience began with our waiter sharing that we must be “sure” of what we order off of the drink menu when asking clarifying questions. Further this experience was marked by down right disrespectful service from two waiters that made comments such as “the food will be out when the kitchen is done” when we asked about how long our food would take to come out. When asked to make a substitution to an item ordered from sweet potato fries to potatoes wedges our waiter simply said “no” and walked away. Dumbfounded myself and coworkers looked at one another disgusted by the behavior and attitude and asked for boxes to go. This waiter claimed they were “joking” and shared the potato wedge substitute was coming out. We explained to this waiter that nonetheless it was a beyond rude comment and he was combative and defensive as we explained how unacceptable his comments were. Due to this we asked for this entree to be removed from the bill, this waiter pushed the plate toward my co-worker and said “well you’re going to pay for it or we will call the cops”. This waiter walked away and when he came explained “there was no bill” clearly due to his revelation that his insulting a group of young black people was completely inappropriate. I insisted we pod for this bill due to his other microagressive comments with racial undertones. This restaurant does not welcome black people and was beyond rude to us during this short...
