I ordered 1.5 hours before the bills game started(against the Steelers) with a wait time of one hour till the order is ready . I show up at 4pm (1hr later) and it’s a madhouse, and find out that my order would take another 30 mins, I politely said ok and left and went back home to catch some of the game. I come back 40 mins later and they still don’t have my order ready, another ten mins later they put 50 wings in front of me and a large pizza. That would be fine but I ordered a sheet pizza and 50 wings. They tell me if I wait another 30 mins they can add on a large pizza to make up for not getting a sheet pizza. I decline and ask if they can just pay me the difference or give me a gift card (I was traveling out to orchard park with a party waiting for food). I was told since I ordered thru their website I have to go thru there but the manager on duty said he would approve the refund. I looked at him like “really?” And I shouldn’t have trusted them. I put in a request thru their website and was DENIED!! All I requested was $25 back, this covered the cost difference between the large and sheet pizza, refunded the tip ($8) I gave them and like $2 inconvenience fee, and was denied!!! The manager said he gave me two large pizzas!! (Which was false!!) I was never unreasonable, never raised my voice or caused a scene for waiting an hour over my expected time and paying more than what I got. This is terrible management. I feel for the young people working there having to put up with all the other patrons yelling where their order is. Any manager would have stopped taking orders to make sure they could fulfill and keep track of the orders in their queue . But on top of that to lie about giving me my money back is the last straw, they lost a life time customer and I’m just sad. City of good...
Read moreI was hosting a birthday party for my son, so I decided to purchase a big order from Carbones Pizza's South Park location! I ordered 3 party pizzas & 150 chicken wings w/3 different sauce flavors; 50 lemon pepper, 50 honey mustard & 50 barbeque. The 3 pizzas had various different toppings; one had double cheese double pepperoni; the 2nd one had double cheese, pepperoni, sausage, and onions; and the 3rd had double cheese, pepperoni, & mushrooms. We looked forward to enjoying our party w/great food & good memories, but we were greatly disappointed! The pizza was thick & gooey, as if the dough was not totally done. The slices were very heavy, & fell over on top of other slices within the box as we tried to lift them out. The sausage was gross, & tasted lika some sort of foreign object. Try as we might to like it, the pizza's were truly GROSS! I found out later that guests were secretly wrapping their pizza in napkins & slipping it into the garbage can, so as not to hurt my feelings! The chicken wings were hard, dry, & overcooked. Some were actually burnt, and you could see and taste the burnt parts. We also did not get celery sticks with our 150 wings. I made a huge sacrifice and spent $250.00 for food that was INEDIBLE! To top it off, I got very sick that evening. My stomach cramped for hours, and I vomited throughout the night. Some other guests said their stomachs were upset too! Read moreThe food is fantastic and I have never been disappointed any time I have had it. My complaint has been the service at the South Park location. I have done a handful of online orders for pickup and each time the food has been ready 20-40 minutes after the time it was scheduled to be ready. I have ended up having to wait quite a while for my food to be ready. I can understand that the website may not always be an accurate reflection of what's going on in the store and things get delayed. What has made going to Carbones no longer worth it to me is how these situations are handled by the staff there. The staff would make it clear they were annoyed that I had shown up to pick up the order and that it wasn't done yet. When I mentioned that I am here because this is the time the online order said it should be ready, the staff reaction was to brush it off and say things like "well we just got the order" or "I don't control the web ordering". I also would see other customers get treated the same way as myself while waiting for my order to be ready, they would come in to get their online order and receive the same treatment. To me it seems that there was an issue with how the online orders were placed and how the store then got those orders. However, how it was handled by the staff was to blame the customer rather than understand where the disconnect could be. I would have been happy with a simple apology and acknowledgement that the online ordering is a challenge for them.
