I love this place and I will definitely be coming here again. The only thing I wish was they had their own parking lot. Other than that, this place was awesome. So, I went for an office party and they treated us very well. At first they had everyone start at the bar and they made us a pie of every pizza on their menu the slices were decent size, and they were all really good. I liked that every pizza was a thin crust so you were able to taste every flavor on every slice. My favorite was the Fig, which also had smoked bleu cheese, truffle oil/butter, topped with a slice of prosciutto. The savory and salt combo was a perfect match. My friend/coworker snagged a seat at the bar and despite there being well over 100 people, the bartenders were very attentive. My friend is one who does not drink alcohol, and she also doesn’t eat pork. So first she asked for a mocktail. They must have a mocktail recipe they use all the time because the bartender said no problem and made a delicious drink for her (not just orange juice, pineapple juice, and sprite). It was so good I ordered on…with alcohol of course. Multiple slices of pizza later we realized there weren’t any non-pork pizzas out. We kindly asked which pizza they have with no pork because he she doesn’t eat it. He said not a problem, and quickly had the guy make a mushroom pizza just for us; with no fuss, no attitude and not even a hint of aggravation.
For the second half of our evening they switched to buffet style dining. They provided 2 different types of salad, sautéed carrots, creamy spinach (sooooo good), turkey with gravy, beef with gravy, 2 different types of pasta, and baked chicken wings. All of the food was really good and nicely prepared. After dinner they provided us with an array of cookies.
The place is very spacious. Despite their being so many people we weren’t all bumping into each other. The bathrooms are wittily marked. Ladies, if you have any confusion about signage just know that if you walk in and see a naked picture of Burt Reynolds, you’re in the right bathroom 😉. The bathrooms were nice and the stalls were spacious. They don’t waste paper for washing your hands. Instead there’s nicely rolled towels stacked in the bathroom for you to dry your hands with. All in all this was a great experience and the staff was nice throughout the...
Read moreI am so happy I was finally able to try out Roost. Ever since moving back to Buffalo in January it was on my list. Even though it took me almost a year I made it and it didn't disappoint!
I decided to try out their brunch with a couple of friends. This menu changes every week which I didn't know until I got there. I did glance at other menus a couple of times on their Facebook from previous weeks but luckily didn't get to attached to anything (although I do wish someday I can try the bacon and egg risotto!). I love that it is always different because each time you visit you get to experience new flavors and tastes.
We went during Christmas and it was decorated with a lot of different decorations. My favorite were Nutcrackers hanging from the bar.
They have a beautiful wine fridges that I wish I could just transport to my house. Since it was brunch I didn't try any of their wines but they have a large selection.
We decided to all start off with a Bloody Mary. So good! It was spicy which I enjoy but beware.
We then split the breakfast pizza. I highly recommend this since this was my favorite thing out of everything I had. So many different flavors. I really enjoyed the egg and the maple syrup that they put on time. It was a great mix of sweet and savory.
Then for my meal I ordered polenta with apple and sausage. It was dessert for breakfast with some protein added in so you don't get hungry a few hours later. The apples were my favorite part and added a lot of sweetness to the meal.
I then ended the meal with another cocktail; champagne with elderflower liquor with grape fruit juice. It did have a special name but I cannot remember it. If you look for it on the menu you will find it thou.Very good-you can't go wrong with anything champagne based.
The staff were all so friendly and I really liked our waitress. I also like that the chef/owner goes out to tables to deliver the food and check on things. Although he didn't come to ours he went to a lot of others.
I loved this restaurant and will not be the last...
Read moreSuper nice spot. Good atmosphere and energy for a higher end restaurant. Wanted to try the pizza, huge pizza lover and heard great things........bottom line - super disappointed! We ordered the margherita(16.00) and a Pepperoni(18.00). On both pies the crumb was below average. The whole crust seemd to lacked flavor and for 00 flour I was curious as to why there was no crumb structure.... Sadly both pizzas were over cooked and that did not help the situation. The mozz cheese is made in house and was perfectly fine but nothing special. Sauce is bland and used sparingly, which I dont mind, but the taste of tomato was just off. Unpleasing in some way I can"t quite figure out. The best part, besides the bartender, was the cup and char style pepperonis. They were very flavorful and looked great on the pizza. They taste great just by themselves....I believe the worst part of this place is the value....if this was a 12.00 pizza it would make sense and I would eat here again but 18.00 for a pizza that taste no better then average and selling for half price at local pizzeria makes me not want to come back. Over all to me......this is just a nice fancy place with an over priced menu. It's cool to plate food in a pretty way but it's better when it actually taste good. My never ending quest to try and find decent pizza in buffalo continues....To date Jay's Artisan Pizza is still King. No one around here can touch this guy......... Go to Roost, spend lots of hard earned money you will enjoy feeling like a baller.... but don't order the pizza if you actually like pizza. Besides the pizza, the staff was great. They were friendly, and engaging and efficient. The space is super clean inside and with all the windows you have a nice view of the redeveloping neighborhood. Parking lot attached for easy parking so all good things....Food might even be good too...can only speak about pizza and that left us with many...
