Black Mountain Bistro & Bar — Restaurant in Bullhead City

My coworkers and I have been going to this bistro for years. Since it was Lisa's bistro, new owners and I thought things were great until my coworker and I went there for lunch and the waitress asked if we would like refills on our cold brewed coffee and of course we said yes. Why wouldn't you want a refill on coffee. Come to find out she was charging us full price for the refills without acknowledging us that they charge regular price for refills on cold brewed coffee. When I brought it up to her she grab her manager and her manager kept saying she did the right thing. When the right thing to do as a server is to let your customers know there will be an additional charge per refill. The manager said she understood and she was going to process the refund. Mintues later we get up to figure out what was taking so long and then a man comes up with the refund saying that his server did "THE RIGHT THING" by charging us. It wasn't about doing the wrong or RIGHT thing. It was about letting us, the customers know we would be charged per refill. I told him what I told the manager and he kept saying his server did THE RIGHT THING. So we will keep letting them DO THE RIGHT THING without our business. So sorry but if you like Savory foods and are expecting an Italian inspired dish like I had ordered which was Chicken Piccatta, do not waste your time. I was so disappointed at what sounded like exactly what I was craving. Everything I ordered had a very sweet flavor, the chicken and pasta, the brussel sprouts, the french onion soup even. So so upsetting when you spend $60 on dinner and it's the opposite of the original dish. However this is just my opinion and again, I hate sweet, and love savory so it just was a huge miss for me. Into the bin it goes. Just sad at the fact the this food could have been perfect if they didnt spill the bag of sugar in there. The kids food was also a bit disappointing, just too adult oriented really, the skinny fries got home and are basically plastic in taste and texture and the pizza is just not the kind a child would eat who's not used to a more fancy style pizza. I don’t know why i tried to give this place a try again after the experience i had last year, but here we are. service was honestly embarrassing, it took at least half hour to get two cocktails, one of which they forgot and we had to ask the bar for. we waited over an hour for our food (table of four) tables getting food before us who ordered well after us. my last experience here we waited TWO HOURS for the food, i don’t know why we even stayed. we got the same excuse too “that the kitchen is so backed up” and there’s only three of us. honestly walk faster or with some gumption??? i’m in the industry and it’s not excusable…all in all i would never recommend this place to anyone nor will i ever return. food was not even hot upon arrival and just all was a mess. i don’t think these people know how to run a restaurant! which is sad for our area cause they have a lot of potential. oh also they didn’t even comp a round of drinks or an app??? like it’s the least they...
