SO SORRY I DON'T REMEMBER NAMES! You ever have those days where nothing is going right? I had one yesterday. I ordered food from their website for my husband's birthday after an already terrible series of events. The order was pushed to uber eats. Here is where things went downhill. As I waited and watched the uber updates, the driver got to the location and then cancelled. I called the store and they were happy to help me get another driver. That was going to add about 45 minutes but I really wanted to do something nice and my husband was still about an hour from arriving home. My husband got home about 5 minutes before the food but I thought no big deal. Well, the "food" arrived and it was only potato salad, some coleslaw and, the bread, pickles, onions. No meat. Frustrated and defeated, I called the store asking for a refund. They already knew what the issue was when I called and were already fixing it. I spoke to the store manager and she did not try to make any excuses. She refunded my food but had already dispatched another driver to deliver the food that I should have gotten. Everyone was apologetic and kind about everything. There are details I am missing out but in the end, the food was warm, my husband said it was delicious (especially the ribs) and we got to have some relaxation and good conversation with our 3 kids over good food. OH!! And I got a voicemail from the General Manager explaining everything and apologizing again for the complications. Above and beyond to fix the issues that occurred. Absolutely will have my business again and again!
Meats Ribs, sliced brisket and sausage. All flavorful and the right tenderness. Sides potato salad - not my favorite but my son really liked it Coleslaw - Husband is reaaaaaalllllly picky about it and he said it was almost as good as his grandma's 10/10 beans - Delicious! creamed corn - my personal favorite and it did. not. disappoint. Perfect creaminess and firmness of the corn!
Ordered an extra bottle of their BBQ sauce because I can't help it everytime we get food from...
Read moreCame for the pork ribs and baked potato on a late Friday afternoon (the timing may have affected my experience). Was assisted by a well-trained and courteous young lady at the counter. I ordered a half-pound of the ribs and received three meaty, juicy and delicious ribs. I only wish I had received more as the $8.65 I paid seemed a little high. The baked potato was a bit of a disappointment. It was, as advertised, a big Texas-sized spud with lots of toppings, the standout being the real pieces of bacon on top - a real treat. Unfortunately, the potato was cold and seemed old. I devoured it nonetheless while imagining what it could have been like were it fresh. One item on the fixings bar I loved were the whole jalapeños with sliced carrots. Loved the kick the peppers gave the carrots. The barbecue sauce is a standout. I plan to return and explore more of the menu. Also, I was glad to see that the staff was masked and following COVID protocols, something you don't find at every restaurant in San Antonio. Keep up...
Read moreI got the two meat plate with mac & cheese and potato chips. I requested lean brisket and turkey. They were able to give me lean brisket, but was told that they were out of turkey (at that point it was around 7:30 pm). I was offered other meat choices to get instead of the turkey, and I chose the jalapeño sausage. I would highly recommend you trying it, it may have even been better than the turkey I ordered.
Now I’m rating this five stars, because the experience tonight was five stars. In the past however, the employees at the front had been less than ideal with customer service. Never rude, but flat. For someone who works part-time and hourly in the service industry, I understand it’s not always exciting or fun, but it’s nice when someone takes pride in their work and has hospitality for the customer. This time, everything was easy, nothing was forgotten in the bag, and the young lady who helped me had great customer service. The food was hot, it was on time and I really wouldn’t change anything with...
