Having visited numerous fast-food establishments over the years, Carls Jr. consistently stands out as a solid choice for hearty, flavor-packed burgers and more. While it might not be perfect, it delivers a satisfying fast food experience that never ceases to hit the spot.
The strength of Carls Jr. lies predominantly in its unique menu items. Their Western Bacon Cheeseburger is a standout, combining a tender, juicy patty with the delightful crunch of onion rings and a tangy BBQ sauce that offers a real depth of flavor. Likewise, the Beyond Meat options are incredibly inclusive, ensuring that even vegetarians can enjoy a delicious burger.
The restaurant does not skimp on portion sizes. The fries are hearty and delicious, and the drinks are well-sized. The Thickburgers, in particular, are generously layered and, unlike some competitors, appear as appetizing in person as they do in the promotional pictures.
In terms of service, it varies. The staff, for the most part, are friendly and efficient, and the drive-thru service is usually quick. However, there have been isolated occasions where orders have been mixed up or the waiting times were slightly longer than ideal.
The restaurant's atmosphere is standard for fast food, with clean interiors and comfortable seating. However, a few more refurbishments and additions to create a cozier ambiance wouldn't go amiss.
One aspect that could use improvement is the nutritional balance. While it's understood that fast food isn't usually the go-to for a healthy meal, a few more lighter, healthier options on the menu would be appreciated.
All in all, Carls Jr. is an above-average fast-food chain that offers a tasty menu and reliable service. The restaurant could use a few tweaks to bring it up to a solid 5-star experience, but for those in search of a satisfying, hearty meal, it's a worthy option. A four-star rating feels just right for Carls Jr. -- a beacon of classic fast food with a...
Read moreCame in on 07/05/2021 (Burbank) right before 11 am (breakfast stops at 11 am). I should have known something was wrong when the car in front of me in drive thru wanted me to back up so he could leave. I ordered a superstar star combo, asked for criss cut fries (they didn't have any) I asked for coke (they didn't have any) so I asked for Dr pepper. As a side I asked for onion rings (they didn't have any). I asked for French toast combo..the option was coffee or soda...no orange juice (they didn't have any). I opted for coffee. I also got a famous star combo. I asked for sugar and cream(they only had sugar) I paid and went on my way home (I live in L.A. stopped at corner cottage and here for my wife and son). A light away my son said the soda tasted like carbonation only. I took a drink...yuk. I made a u turn parked in front of the store...mask on...two yucky sodas..I went to the front desk. Told her soda tasted like carbination..asked what other soda did I want..chose Fanta orange. She gave them to me. I tasted them good.. she did not even say sorry. As my son was eating the superstar, he said it did not look appealing..nor taste good. My wife took one bite of the famous star and same. I was already at home and that carls Jr is 12 miles from my house...I should have gone to Tommy's next door but my wife wanted French toast. Today (8/7/2021) I went to one of the carls by my house (alhambra, CA).. my wife is happy and my son was pleased....so if you go there and they say they don't have something walk away...drive away...the receipt picture is proof of...
Read moreI used to work at this exact location a year ago and thought I would write a review since I recently decided to stop by and have some Carl’s. First off, one thing all of the people who are vegan/vegetarian don’t realize is that most of the stuff you ordered that doesn’t contain meat is still cooked in the same oil as the meat, therefore most likely has animal fat all over it. Second off, the reason the drive thru is slow is not because of the cashiers, etc. the cooks are the ones who are supposed to get the food out to us and half the time the cooks take their time and don’t seem to be in a rush since they know they won’t have to hear customers yell at them. Third, half the people here didn’t speak English and it made it really hard for me to communicate while working here because I didn’t speak Spanish. The cook who I was staffed with didn’t even speak English and it was a huge issue because he would get orders wrong constantly. Fourth, one of the supervisors (Latina with dark lipstick all the time) was always extremely emotionally abuse towards me which basically led to me deciding to quit. I also noticed her interactions with customers where she is usually quite impatient with them. Fifth, there’s actually no reason the prices should be so high. You’d be shocked if you saw the margins and how much they rip people off for a burger...
