My wife and I went for a Valentines dinner. First thing was how the sign out front says enter thru the back only which thru us off. We ended up just walking in. Fast forward to our very flimsy table that I almost tipped over. I ordered the tequila burrito de asada thinking it was a good choice when I got it the meat was all nerves. I took 3 bites and spit out the "meat" and asked for another burrito of different meat. I asked for chicken and it was literally all pico de gallo and very bland. The rice tasted reheated. Beer wasn't even cold. After the food came back the waiter tried to make it better by starting conversation mid meal. He just kept talking and even came up with a lie saying it's good we told him about the meat. That he's going to talk to his suppliers and tell them to not send that kind of meat again. (I understand what he wanted to do and make me feel better but lying doesn't do anything but annoy me more.) What made me feel some type of way was that he said the meat already comes pre cut. Which was a let down for me thinking the meat was fresh. Idk if I just didn't hear it but i heard no type of music either. Mostly never going back here again. Hella pricey and...
Read moreWith a Taco Tuesday Happy Hour menu that lasts until 7pm and hosts $1.25 tacos and a bevy of delicious drinks; margaritas, beer, wine and of course mixed drinks, Tequila’s is the perfect place to either catch a bite or just chillax with friends and watch some sports. The service can be a bit slow but everyone is super sweet. Plus they bring out a seemingly endless resource of appetizing chips and salsa.
The tacos featured in their taco Tuesday happy hour are generously sized and comes in a hard shell with lettuce, cheese and tomatoes. What’s the catch you may ask? Well you do have to purchase a beverage; either non-alcoholic or something inexpensive from their happy hour also counts. So if you are like me and want to pig out on some tacos make sure you at least order a $5 margarita.
As for ambiance, the cantina here is spacious with great lighting. The crowd is typically mixed with young professionals and families. There’s never typically a wait and parking is a breeze. They offer street parking or a smaller lot located on the corner, either way it’s pretty easy to find.
Overall great place if you’re looking for no frills...
Read moreThis place does have happy hour specials, Taco Tuesdays, live music on the weekends, and a pretty lively atmosphere when it's closer to the evenings. The also have a buffet available in case you don't want to order off the menu.
The staff is super friendly and nice, but I find the food lacking for a Mexican restaurant. It's all bland. Nothing bad, but nothing great either. Eating here didn't make me say "oh so good" or "this is great". All I could say at the end is, "I'm full. At least there's that". I had the steak torta, which was bland. Steak looked like it was pre-cooked and they simply scooped it out of the tray and slapped in onto my torta. Not a big deal, but again, bland. I also had tried their wet burrito and no steak options? Only shredded beef, and again, it tasted bland. Chips and salsa, bland.
This place is nowhere near the best Mexican food in Burbank. Honestly, I feel Barragans, or even Granadas has better flavor when it comes to Mexican food.
Great staff, good specials, full...
