I don't know how this compares to other Mexican restaurants in the area but it is conveniently located off the freeway. Popular with the locals it appears. There was a party of two dozen that luckily had already ordered. Our orders were taken quickly and the food timely served. Waitresses and staff were working hard but there were a good number of them so the service was excellent. Lunch menu had a lot of choices and $3-4 off the dinner prices so we felt we got a good deal even if lunch portions were smaller, which I can only assume would be the case. Normal chips with a warm bean dip. The salsa was a little watery to our liking but with good flavor. Burley is a good place to stop with many restaurants and this restaurant is good if you're craving Mexican. Husband ordered taco and enchilada. Mine was chile verde burrito, not huge as one we saw that must have been ordered from the dinner menu, but good flavor, good amount of meat, with rice and beans. Oh! And an unexpected sweet, like-a-fortune-cookie-from-Chinese-restaurant, was just perfect to end the meal.

First time visiting this restaurant and was pretty impressed. Great Sonoran style Mexican food! The restaurant itself has plenty of seating, plenty of beautifully done murals on the wall, giving great ambiance. Lots of tvs for those interested in catching a game. And the chips come with a dish of salsa AND a dish of warm bean dip- super delicious! The service was fantastic, refilling our sodas regularly and checking in with us just the right amount. The food was good, we ordered from the lunch menu: my husband ordered the taquitos, I ordered the #15 Colorado burrito. The #15 had delicious beef in a red sauce, completely covered in Monterrey cheese, honestly a bit too much cheese for me but most would love it! The lunch dishes all come with rice and beans, again too much for me, but if you are hungry, it will satisfy every stomach, and for a great price! To top it all off, our server brought complimentary fried flour tortilla pieces with whipped cream and cinnamon on top, a sweet treat at the close of our meal.

If you want amazing food that will satisfy all of your senses, you have come to the right place. El Cap is the perfect place for a restaurant to rock your world. Starting with the smell of food that will get your hunger pains going from across the street. When you walk on the restaurant it only gets stronger. The glorious smells of food tantalize your nose and makes you salivate waiting for your amazing meal to get to your table. The service is amazing. The staff is friendly, helpful, know the menu and can suggest items to try. El Cap is the best restaurant in the area and worth a try.

Yesterday my family and I received the worst service by the general manager, supposedly 10years with the industry. When we got there the host and both servers and busser were excellent. I ordered carne asada, and I specifically asked 4 times please don't burn it. I know in Hispanic restaurants we like to eat the food well done... But I reiterated that I DONT WANT MY FOOD BURNT. When I received my meal, guess what, my steak was burnt. My sister in law has an onion allergy. She asked for no onions and no pico. She also never got her tortillas.. I informed the servers hey this meat IS BURNT, she said no problem I'll have them remake it. I said great. She politely asked for the meat back, and a member of the table asked for the meat instead. I looked at the server and said is that ok, she said yeah that's fine. She left and after a few minutes came back with the other server. This time the other server said, we need to charge you for both meats now. And I said wait a second what you'll end up doing is throwing it away and remaking it. (I don't mind paying for more meat but if she would've said that initially I wouldn't of given it to the table to eat). So I said I don't want anything. Then I. Told both servers after they've seen my frustrations (we don't want to be bothered just leave) I was very angry. I didn't want to take it out on them so asked them for space. Finally I asked for the check and the general manager's name and if the owner was present. Because they were having me still pay for the burnt meat.. the general manager shows up and said. " I don't need to give you my name, I don't need you asking my employees for my name because they won't give it to you and I've been in the industry for 10 years, I know how to treat people". After that I let it rip, I told her many things, maybe in an angry way sure, but because the problem started with the cooks and their leader. Which it would be her in this case. As a manager, I'd always want EVERYONE'S EXPERIENCE TO BE Extraordinary, not ok. She never came to the table. She was sitting in the bar sent the servers twice to make sure we are "ok". She didn't have the 10 year audacity experience as she claims to even approach us if there was an issue. The servers showed her all the notes the lady took. Because I mentioned I'm VERY PARTICULAR. Over and over again.. so ITS NOT THE SERVERS FAULT, NOT THE HOST, NOT THE BUSSER, A BIT ON THE COOKS, BUT HONESTLY it's the managers responsibility. And she got defensive angry started yelling and her coworkers tried to tell her to low her voice. I let her have it. Then some big dude near the bar that is a server or something tried approaching me got in my space, and I informed dude walk away you're in my area and you're now trying to start something and that ain't very good. I WANT TO SPEAK TO THE OWNER. This was my first visit here. And there's a lot more to it. But I can't mention that over Google. Terrible terrible service especially from a 10yr manager employee. I'm into leadership and she needs...

Every year I travel from out of state to celebrate the birthday I share with my brother. Every year, I endure the painstakingly slow service of Perkin’s restaurant because of some sick kind of masochism that my family thrives on. I was dreading the trip, imagining the torment I was going to feel. Then suddenly, word came in like a doctor announcing a cancer being cured. We were trying a new restaurant. El Caporal. I heard the news and immediately fell to my knees. Tears began filling up my eyes. I soon found myself convulsing, quivering with foam forming inside my mouth. I couldn’t stop smiling. My cheeks swelled at the thought of a new hope. We drove from out of state with a feeling that maybe things were gonna be different.

I called ahead making a reservation with a newfound optimism in life. We showed up in time for the reservation, only to be told to wait 45 minutes. I found a bench to wait on. I gathered rust like an old Chevy, waiting for saint peter to call my name and take me to my table. When we finally got our table, I still had a glimmer of hope. We ordered our food immediately trying to salvage the night. I patiently sat around like a prisoner in solitary confinement, blocking out the echoes of comments from others at my table about the lack of masks worn by employees. This is Idaho. Asking somebody here to wear a mask is like asking Rosa Parks to move to the back of the bus. It’s offensive to ask, and out of principle, your request will surely be denied. As a diabetic, I tried doing the responsible thing and waited around 30 minutes before I began my insulin intake procedure. I figured the food wouldn’t be much longer and my doctor has been asking for me to prepare for the onslaught of carbs before intake. Unfortunately the food wouldn’t arrive for another hour and a half. The only way I survived was the intake of an obscenely high amount of chips and salsa that I would be paying for later that night when I got back to the hotel. Once the food finally arrived, I don’t know if it was the starving feeling I had, the relief to my blood glucose levels, or the actual cooking, but the food was really good. My chimichangas arrived like manna from heaven and pleased every fibre of my being. The chicken was decent but the beef was fantastic. If you have time to kill I highly recommend this establishment.

One day I may get a meal in a timely...

We heard this place was better than Garabaldis in Twin so we decided to drive from Twin to try it out. We got there and sat down. Ordered our drinks and an appetizer then waited. The server came back and got our order. And then we waited.... and waited and waited. Everyone around us got their food. The parties around us finished eating and left. The people that walked in after we did got their food and were eating. We still hadn't even got the nachos we ordered as an appetizer. It was now 40 minutes of waiting. The server finally brought it over. Dropped it quickly and left. We continued to wait more for our food. At this point we've sat and waited for an hour and 10 minutes. Server never came by again. So I caught someone dropping off chips at a table and asked for the check for our appetizer. She went to the bar and told our server and they sat there talking and laughing. Only concern was making the alcoholic drinks. Then she runs to the kitchen, literally ran through the area. Waited another 10 minutes for our check that never came. We went up to the front to ask for our check and pay. Then the lady we asked the first time for our check came up and said "sorry we got so busy there". But they didn't. Everyone around us had their food, ate and left and we still didn't even get our appetizer. We had high hopes thinking it would be better than our usual. But all the way around it was not. The salsa tasted like onions and tomato juice. The nachos were flavorless and soggy. But overall the service was absoutley horrible!! We ended up grabbing some taco bell and headed home. We won't be back. Garibaldis in Twin has far better food and...
