Gigi's popped up in my insta feed, as I am constantly on the lookout for a sandwich spot that will rival Little Lucca's, so we were definitely eager to try. We were surprised at the Burlingame location, tucked away in a secret spot at the lobby level of a nondescript glass building. Definitely IYKYK vibes. Really appreciate the outdoor seats, which shows that Gigi encourages us to sit and enjoy her menu items : ) Walked into the lobby and ordered at the kiosk: $13.99 2-meat combo, ham/roast beef, all veggies, pickles, pepperoncini, oil and vinegar on french roll. The sandwich probably weighed at least 2 lbs, it was a MONSTER. So we unhinged our jaws and went to work. A word of caution, this sandwich is really meant to be shared if you want to bypass a food coma. Because wow. You can see from the photo that it means business. But what makes it so pleasantly easy to eat are the acids: vinegar, pickles, pepperoncini cut the richness of the meats and bread. We also ordered a potato salad and were equally impressed--it can almost pass for Will's. I think we've found Little Lucca's competitor right here. Gigi's is a MUST TRY. Can't wait...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI canāt speak of Gigiās Cafe in store experience, but ill share a story to hopefully educate the owner.
Delivery shoppers/drivers who deliver groceries and shop for you are service workers. Thereās a difference between a shopper/delivery and delivery drivers. Their pay depends on tips as we have to pay for gas, maintenance etc, delivery charge is not a tip. We usually expect the most tips from people who work on service industry, and should know that tipping is what keeps us afloat.
Please, next time you tip $2.5 on a $50 order think about how your waiters would feel if you tipped them 5% during a pandemic. This is not a one-time instance either, please do better and make sure you treat service workers with respect including your own workers. I pointed out to you in store that your tipping is insulting especially since your income also depends on tips, and instead you took the -$2.50 tip and left me with a 1-star review.
Hopefully youāll remember this review next time you have someone bring your groceries to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been searching for "The sandwich," for years, and for some weird reason never knew of Gigi's Cafe until just last week - all those years before we're wasted.
Great, giant, fresh, flavorful, sandwiches and salads and baked goodies.
I've had the Gigi-pastrami, Thanksgiving, and Chicken bacon Chipotle, along with a super fresh super-sized Garden salad (romaine, garbanzo beans, mini carrots, cherry tomatoes, and couscous, I selected the tasty blue cheese dressing from the .any available choices).
The sandwiches are BIG, so much so that I now split a sandwich and a salad with another person and that alone is a filling lunch.
The location is in the first floor lobby of a mirrored skin office building and on weekends when the building lobby is closed the service windows is accessed from the back parking garage deck (keep looking for signs). Well worth going for a great...
