I recently went to Bleu with some coworkers to celebrate the closing of our greenhouse being sold.
We went anticipating an enjoyable, fun and delicious time but unfortunately were disappointed.
The whole dinner the waitstaff was very much in our space as well as having a rude undertone. My table asked for a Riesling and the waitress told us they didn’t have one. But upon further reading of the wine list, there was in fact one. It felt a little like she just wanted up to spend more. The server following her kept referring to me and another guest at our table “young lady,” and though we appreciate that he thinks we were young, we are in our late 20s-early 30s and it felt a little condescending.
We got the scallops and oysters to start. The scallops were over cook and the dish lacked flavor in general. They’re served on corn and tomato and it just tasted very bland. The dish was rather dry. The oysters were alright, but had a lot of little flakes of shell and sand.
By the time we finished our starters we wanted to leave but had already ordered our dinner so we stayed.
For the main courses 2 of the guests at our table ordered the strip steak for $38. It was served with dressed greens which were a little weak. Just tasted like some Italian dressing on some lettuce. The meat was tough too.
The salmon was good, it was served with swish shard and polenta. Though I’m pretty sure they forgot the horseradish. So overall it was a little too filling and plain.
We left all feeling like the restaurant was alright, but not for its prices and experience with the staff. I was looking for that, “wow this is excellent!” But only felt that the food and flavors...
Read moreMost shocking experience l've ever had going out to eat...or attempting to anyway. I made reservations for breakfast at this restaurant for 9:45 on New Year's Day. We arrived a few minutes late and upon arriving there was a very large party exiting. We held the door for the elderly individuals and parents with little ones and then proceeded up the stairs to the restaurant. We arrived at the hostess station at 9:50 (our reservation was for 9:45). We waited a couple minutes for the hostess to greet us. When I told her we had a reservation at 9:45 she responded "oh, you were late so we gave your table to another party." I mentioned again that our reservation was for 9:45. She stated we were 10 minutes late (there were 3 of us and we all looked at our phones/watches to check the time, in disbelief). It still wasn't even 9:55 yet! I mentioned we were holding the door for a large party and she responded with "you were holding a door for 10 minutes?" To my surprise, l immediately mentioned we also waited at the host station for a couple minutes for anyone to even greet us. To that she replied "you didn't have to wait more than a minute or two." She mentioned she could seat us at 10:30 and that's the best she could do because we were late. We left and went to Friendly Toast where the service was “friendly” and fantastic and so was the food. I will not return to this restaurant after such a rude encounter. I asked for the name of the manager for the restaurant from the hotel's front desk and they informed me there currently wasn't one. It...
Read morewe visited this restaurant with our two kids on new year’s day, hoping to start 2025 with a pleasant family breakfast. unfortunately, the service we received from a waitress named HAZEL, who had two braided pigtails, was nothing short of discriminatory and unprofessional.
we ordered 4 breakfasts, but only 3 were served(as photo). HAZEL gave my meal to a single woman who arrived after us. when we called her back to ask, she casually admitted her mistake, saying my meal would be remade and even mentioned that the item would be removed from our bill. however, this promise was not kept—what we received was an incomplete bill with unclear charges. we paid $100, but the bill only showed around $40 worth of items, covering barely half of what we ordered.
when my meal was finally served, HAZEL placed it on the table WITHOUT a single word of apology, NO smile, and NO acknowledgment—just a cold, dismissive attitude.
what made this experience even worse was the stark contrast in her demeanor. she was ALL smiles and warmth toward the two nearby tables of white customers but treated us, as an asian family, with indifference and disrespect.
I refrained from confronting her directly in front of my children to avoid creating an uncomfortable scene, but this behavior is unacceptable. on such a meaningful day, her actions completely ruined our mood.
respect and professionalism should be given to all customers, regardless of their background. HAZEL’s behavior was not only disappointing but also reflects poorly on the restaurant as a...
