The Flynn Review: Visiting The Flynn for the first time was a fantastic experience. My wife and I watched a musical there yesterday, Thursday, and were thoroughly impressed. The theater itself is a true gem in the heart of Burlington, offering a perfect blend of historical charm and modern convenience. From the moment we stepped inside, we were greeted by a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff were courteous and helpful, ensuring that everything from finding our seats to enjoying the intermission went smoothly. The acoustics in the theater were impeccable, making it easy to hear every note and line during the performance. The seating was comfortable, with a good view of the stage from almost any angle. Overall, The Flynn offers an intimate yet grand space for live theater, making it a must-visit for any performing arts enthusiast in Vermont.
Hadestown First Response: Hadestown is an absolutely mesmerizing production. My wife and I watched the musical yesterday, Thursday, and we were captivated by how it weaves the ancient stories of Orpheus and Eurydice, and Hades and Persephone, into a modern and poignant narrative. The music, composed by Anaïs Mitchell, is hauntingly beautiful and perfectly complements the story's themes of love, loss, and resilience. The set design and lighting created an immersive experience, transporting the audience into the mythic world of the underworld with its industrial landscape. The performances were nothing short of extraordinary, with the actors bringing incredible emotion and depth to their roles. It's a show that stays with you long after the curtain falls, a perfect mix of heart and soul. We left the theater moved and inspired by its message, making Hadestown a must-see for anyone who appreciates theater that challenges and enchants at...
Read moreWe went to a show recently and I have to comment about the complete lack of alcohol control by the Flynn. Obviously drunk people just kept coming back to their seats with more and more beer for 3 hours straight. It was shocking that they kept getting served. The volunteer attending the long concession line kept saying it was only 3.5 minutes from a certain spot and they get people through the bar fast making it seem like that’s the priority. It was quite shocking to see a venue we value so much to not value the safety of its patrons. It also made the show difficult to be at with so many grossly drunk people surrounding us and we left early. ...
Read moreMy friend and I recently attended a show at The Flynn and, while there was an unexpected issue during the event, I was incredibly impressed with how the team handled it afterward. Mistakes can happen anywhere, but what truly sets a venue apart is how they respond—and The Flynn went above and beyond to make things right.
Scott, in particular, was outstanding. He took the time to listen to my concerns, personally advocated on my behalf, and ensured that the situation was resolved in a thoughtful and generous way. It’s clear that the staff genuinely cares about their patrons and is committed to providing a positive experience.
I’m grateful for their kindness and professionalism and am looking forward to returning for another show soon. I highly recommend The Flynn—not only for their amazing performances but also for their exceptional...
