I very rarely ever write google reviews. Only if something is unbelievably exceptional, or disappointingly unexceptional—and both are always related to the experience had, which is created by the people you interact with. This was my first visit to Foam. I was happy with the quality of the beer, and genuinely enjoyed a few different offerings. I loved the outside patio, and the many different people around who were enjoying good beer in a nice location. What I found a bit confusing—as actually quite a number of other reviewers have pointed out—is the quasi-unfriendly interactions with some of the staff. I had some perfectly normal “what you would expect” interactions for visiting an establishment who outwardly interfaces with the public—and some eyebrow raising “what was that?” experiences. I’m not sure what it is—so I won’t define it specifically—but I find it fascinating that so many other people have had this exact same experience. If not for these bizarre interactions, this would be a 5 star review. I’m not judging the individuals who promoted this review—I just find it interesting (and confusing) that this is so clearly an ongoing issue with so many guests. It just sort of leaves a bit of a sour taste in your mouth. And not...
Read moreWord on the street was that this is an awesome brewery. So, no surprise, it is. First off, lots of parking on a Friday night, which is rare in downtown Burlington. The place was packed with a live brass band playing, yet I found a counter stool. The whole time I was there, people came and went and there was always an open seat or two somewhere. However, I’m told this can be rare in weekends, so beware! The staff is attentive and engaged. Multiple people checked in on my happiness without EVER being aggressive. I got valuable local advice on a the best Burlington restaurants for a 40th anniversary dinner (now Landon and Una know who is writing this). As for the beer: it is mighty fine. I tried the coffee porter, the lager — which eliminated the trauma of a honey larger I’d foolishly tried in a different place in a different state — and the pilsner. And, I went home with a 4-pack of double IPA because I’m driving. Besides hunger, that also why I consumed a plate of “processed meat” — it has a French sounding name I can’t spell — that turned out to be much more than advertised. I also got the Gorp because, well, three beers. Anyway, long story short: you should go. I can’t imagine you won’t have an...
Read moreFoam has some of the best craft IAP and small batch sour's in my opinion. The tap room is always decked out with art from local artists around the Burlington area. Both pre and pose pandemic, it's always been a good time to visit their tasting room. They also renovated it to expand the amount of sitting and social distancing space. I highly recommend making a reservation as the Burlington-Waterfront tasting room fills up quick. I also encourage craft beer enthusiests to keep an eye on their updated releases for specialty IPA and sour beers as they update regularly. They have a nice ambiance with delicious food and beer menu. They also partner up with House of Fermentology which is a speciality wild ale/sour beer creator, only releasing through Foam Brewers and for very special occassions as everything is barrel aged. This is definitely the spot to visit if your into craft beer, good munchie food, and aesthetic ambiance. Remember...Make a reservation if you want to guarentee a seat as the tasting room fills up quick! Thanks again for the...
