Notice how all the most recent reviews are terrible because the people who work here are as rude as anyone in North Carolina. Unless you’re a local or a regular who knows what to expect, I wouldn’t recommend this bar to anyone else.
This is the bar that the biggest clowns in Burlington work for and go to. Tonight a customer decided to throw a half full can of beer at the bar tender. It didn’t even come close because it almost hit me and another person sitting at the bar, spraying beer all over us. The can was less than a foot from hitting me in the head. When I expressed issue with the customer that threw the can the bartender ended up catching an attitude with my group. We left with no issue except the bartender and the customer who threw the can kept running their mouths at us and escalating the issue after my group calmed down and said we didn’t want any issues. I guess you should be cool with getting hit in the head with half full beer cans if you want to go here because otherwise you’re going to be a problem. The bartender was also clearly not sober.
Honestly, I’ve been to this bar over 40 times and the current regime of bartenders are always causing the issues that happen at this bar. They constantly throw people out, yell at and flip off people walking by on the street, and openly express their hatred of certain customers.
If you go when they have a band, you’re going to damage your hearing. It’s too small and too loud to have a band in this venue. Oh and don’t forget the beer cans. I hope if you read this review and then go to public house that you’ll at least consider throwing a full can of beer at the bartenders head, since it’s clearly not an issue.
Anyways, enjoy the slum that is public house. There aren’t many choices in Burlington but it’s not hard to find better...
Read moreI was incredibly disappointed, to be honest. This had to be the most uninviting trip to a bar I've been to in a long time. The door to enter was blocked by a group of people that were not eager to let us in. There was only one table available with one chair at it, which wasn't a big deal since we didn't mind standing. When i went to the bar to order, I had my I.D. and card in hand ready to order and had to wait for the bartender to finally come over even though we had been there for over 5 minutes, since I wanted to make sure we were ready to order at once as common courtesy. I was interrupted during my order by the bartender demanding I.D.s. I had mine in hand that I was handing over and he checked the two friends I had with me before bothering to listen to a word out of my mouth. Had to ask for my order again which was literally just a Vodka bomb. I switched to well over my preferred Vodka because i was not willing to give more of my money to such a rude experience. The bartender clearly didn't want us in there so we left, even after another table offered to buy us a round because I felt so clearly unwanted by the bartender. I have worked in dive bars from age 18-24 and I have never treated a random customer like that. This review is 1 star only because of the attitude we were given during our order by the bartender, everything else was just icing...
Read moreLimited menu on a Sunday, which is not advertised online. We arrived and should have realized there was a reason there was only 6 people in the restaurant. When arriving, it said that hostess would seat us but there was no hostess. We asked the bartender if we could sit anywhere and he was less than happy to see us. We placed an order of 4 burgers-2 were to be medium rare, one medium and medium well....BECAUSE we were told that medium was very pink. The burgers came out well done and burnt. Precursor to the meal was the pretzel appetizer, which was awful. The pretzel was offputting and the pimento cheese accompaniment was terrible. When we told the waitress about the grossly overcooked burgers, there was no apology or accountability. The shining star was...
