Let me tell you about my experience.... Along with a story of the last two years...
I've been going to Diedrich Espresso religiously for YEARS. About two years ago I was living in Conway, and that's where I started my addiction, to both the coffee and the amazing ladies who work at these stands. The very first lady I remember meeting was Whitney, and oh my she's wonderful. When I moved from Conway to Sedro Woolley, my in town trips would include stopping by the Burlington Location every once and a while, and mostly I would still stop in at the Conway location. Last summer I moved to Mount Vernon, and talked my boyfriend into getting coffee when I'd take him to work at 5am a couple days a week. Whitney was the opener, and She has a FANTASTIC memory! By the 3rd visit she had our whole breakfast morning routine down. (And she still had my drink memorized nearly a year later when I stopped in on a weekend less than a month ago!) Fantastic customer connections, I always felt listened to, which is important to me.
Moved back to Sedro Woolley in the late fall and got a job in town, so I started going to more local to Sedro stands. I regret this. I don't like negative comments, but I never got customer service that made me want to tip, but my coffee was decent. Then I got extremely poor service nearly every time I went, so I decided to take that extra drive to go back to a stand I've been actually treated like a person at... All the way back to Burlington I went, and it was the best choice I made!
My Monday though Friday morning coffee is made by a fantastic lady who treats me like a friggin' person! She remembers our drinks every time, even when we think we might want to change it up. She talks with us, and laughs with us, she makes my day better. Amber is a freaking coffee Guru, Amber is positively the most awesome person I've ever made an effort to see at least once a week. Have you ever left a coffee stand, with liquid happiness, and laughing so hard you're nearly crying and you have to stop and breath a minute before you start driving? Because I have.
Another question, how many coffee stands do you pass in the morning? Have you ever thought about that? I have. And I've counted. On any given day, on my way to see Amber, I pass about 13 coffee stands. 13!! Customer loyalty is a real thing, I need a huge shout out to Amber, thanks for making days special and I'll see you soon...
Read moreI won't be back. I have been here before and they were not friendly, but wanted to give them another chance since everybody can have a bad day now and then. Today was no different however, so I'll choose somewhere else next time I pulled up, the only car on one side. They were finishing with a car on the other side. No greeting, and they didn't even acknowledge I was there at first. Finally ordered and I sat there for 10 minutes waiting for one mocha. Meanwhile they fulfilled another order on the other side that had pulled up. I finally asked for my coffee (I could see it sitting the re for the longest time) and she said she was waiting for more warm milk. What??? When she gave me the coffee I said thank you, and she just turned away. Unfortunately I had already left a tip and rounded up for some charity they asked me about. Really unfortunate. This gal missed the life lessons in how to...
Read moreI am usually a regular but after this morning (9/21/17) I will be looking for a new stand. The service I received was unbelievable. After pulling up to the window and being ignored for a few minutes by BOTH the girls inside, I was finally asked what i was drinking which is about the simplest drink you can make (I've been a barista for 6 years myself) and it was terrible. I was a loyal customer to Amber, who apparently is the only girl there who actually knows how to pour shots and make coffee using the correct formula. I would suggest extensive training for these new girls not only in coffee, but in customer...
