I feel a bit odd reviewing this place based solely on their weekend buffet, which they only offer on Saturdays and Sundays from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM. Is it fair to judge a restaurant based on just six specific hours?
Located in Burlington, this restaurant occupies the northeast corner of the Burlington Mall plaza, right next to Tuscan Kitchen. Parking here is easy and plentiful since it's part of a large shared lot.
Inside, the decor is tasteful and upscale, and the restaurant is well-lit--a nice contrast to other places where my wife and I struggle to read the menu. However, we were seated at a double-booth-style table, which was uncomfortably tight, especially if you're larger-bodied like me. The table pressed awkwardly against my stomach throughout the meal. The server haphazardly greeted us in front and walked away without telling us to follow - until they came back - and I felt like it should've looked really obvious that my seating was uncomfortable.
The buffet itself felt oddly tucked away, almost as if it were an afterthought. The selection was notably smaller compared to other buffets we've tried. That said, they offer unique dishes you might not easily find elsewhere, such as crispy duck, salt & pepper spare ribs, pickled pepper frogs, and fried eggplant. However, this uniqueness comes at the expense of some staple favorites--no beef sticks or beef and broccoli, for example. They do offer prepared sushi and and pork 'soup dumplings' which were delightful surprises.
Unfortunately, despite the interesting offerings, my wife and I found the food disappointing. The flavors were surprisingly muted--like someone had turned the "flavor dial" down to minimum. Ultimately, this lackluster experience means we won't...
Read moreWow even though I heard great reviews about this place (so I had high expectations) I’m still awed by the food quality of the buffet today. There’s plenty of variety, from Chinese stir fry, to cold dish, to sushi.. and there’s a small dessert and ice cream section too. Each dish is smaller size than “normal” buffet, but they refilled it quite promptly when dish runs low. And the taste is very authentic and amazing! I think it’s similar or even better than a lot of made-to-order Chinese food in most Chinese restaurant around the area. The service is good for a buffet Lunch, considering we had two very young kids and took longer to finish meal and made more mess than general visitors… I was hesitant to try lunch at this place on a Sunday because I heard there is usually a long wait during buffet time and people even mentioned that waiters were checking in to see if they were ready to pay due to the long wait list… well I’m glad I gave it a try! We arrived at around 1 and the restaurant was pretty full but did not need to wait to be seated. Nobody rushed us at all, maybe because it was off peak hours, but all waiters and waitresses seemed nice. And the buffet food still got refilled with fresh batch even at late lunch hours. I will be coming back, off peak hours, hopefully many more times, since I’m already starting to...
Read moreI came to the Burlington location and asked our waiter at the time what the cost was for the Fathers Day Buffett. He told me $15.00 Per person.
I came to your Burlington location on Fathers Day with 6 people. We arrived around 730PM we were told we could still go to the buffett. However, once we were seated and went to the buffett the food was never replenished. If they were not intending on replenishing the food than they really should have told us so we could have ordered off the menu instead. We saw lots of tables with crabs legs and lobsters on their plates and when we got there practically everything was empty.
To add insult to injury when the bill arrived I was shocked to see that we were charged $31.00 Per person! Which is NOT the price that I was told when I was there last week at lunch.
Dinner was over $271 which is outrageous considering each person at our table had one pass of the buffett and that was it. I tried to reach out to the management and they offered a lousy $25.00 gift card that they wanted me to come to the restaurant to pick up.
The atmosphere is nice but everything is over priced in this restaurant and considering there are SO many options in Burlington to eat, you might want to consider before entering this overpriced nothing...
