So I happened to see Greco's when I was charging my car today and decided I wanted to try this new establishment out at the Burlington Mall for an early dinner. So I returned with my wife. I have to say I don’t really review food establishments unless they are amazing! I’d like to first start with the decor. It’s very clean and the vibe is really fresh and alive! The servers were fantastic, attentive and super friendly! Now to the food… I ordered a chicken gyro platter with pita, hummus, zucchini chips and coleslaw. My wife got the lamb gyro with rice, tzatziki and pita. The food tasted amazing especially the gyro meat which is made in the traditional way using pieces of meat rather than the typical ground gyro meat. Very tender and juicy! On our way out we ordered the Loukoumades (Greek donuts) with the cinnamon, honey and walnuts to go. I just tried them when I arrived at home and I have to say they were the best I ever had at a restaurant anywhere in the world (and I do try them whenever I am at a Greek restaurant)! This is one of the ways I gauge Greek restaurants to see if they can make it in the authentic ways. They are soft and airy on the inside and crunchy on the outside with the right amount of sweetness from the honey! This place is going to be my go to Mediterranean Restaurant in Burlington! I highly recommend visiting and trying some of the food! You...
Read moreThis location offers a nice, open, airy atmosphere with clean, self-serve seating. It’s located in the mall, which gives it a more casual vibe. However, the food didn’t quite hit the mark. I tried the chicken pita, which was decent but lacked the bold flavors I’ve found at other places. I also asked for the fries to be served outside the pita (I don’t like them soggy), but they refused, which seemed like an odd point of contention. The zucchini fritters, which took about 10 minutes to prepare as I was reminded many times, arrived over-fried on the outside and disappointingly squishy on the inside.
On a positive note, I tried both the tea and the lemonade—they weren’t overly sweet, and I’d definitely order the tea again. The restaurant also has one of those ice machines that makes tiny ice cubes, which was a nice touch. Overall, the experience was fine, but the food and service left a bit to be desired. I wouldn’t rush back, but might consider giving it another try...
Read moreLove Greco! There aren’t enough Greek or Mediterranean restaurants around. Especially in and out or sit down places. Greco is both! I’ve had a handful of items on the menu and I’ve never been dissatisfied. I was very pregnant the last time I visited and my friend ordered me every type of Loukoumades they offer- was not disappointed haha they were literally amazing. I had never had them before and now I don’t know if I can go back without ordering them! I usually go for a lighter lunch or dinner, and I never leave feeling sick or too full. I can tell the quality of the food is well and the chefs are preparing it fresh. The pitas are delicious and they don’t offer just lamb, they have traditional meats and plant based recipes too (yay inclusivity!) My husband works down town in Boston and they often give first responders a discount, and he can’t speak more highly about Greco. I wish there were...
