We have visited Burlington over the past couple years and stayed at other hotels. One hotel we stayed at was clean but there was some shady stuff going on outside. The next visit at another hotel we were horrified at the cleanliness and deeply concerned for our safety. Compared to the last two hotels this hotel was unmatched, and I had no concerns for our safety. This hotel is bright and welcoming. Prioritizing safety - a room key is needed to go up the elevators to your room from the parking level or entry level. The rooms were freshened up during the day with a treat left for you, and a night turn down. I didn't have to worry about our rooms not having hot water. The showers were amazing with rain shower head and a handheld and great water pressure. No issues with the toilet. The room had robes which I used every day and slippers were available too. Hallways, public areas and elevators were spotless. The employees at the entrance were friendly and accommodating. The beds, pillows, and sheets were clean and comfortable. The safe held my laptop with room for other items. I had to work a couple hours and the internet speed was great. The curtains were completely blackout. The Wegmans was right down the street you could walk to. The refrigerators kept our drinks cold. We opted to eat at the restaurant across the street - so convenient. The location couldn't have been better. |I was a somewhat disappointed with having to pay for breakfast (Ala Cart). The food was hot and fresh and delicious, but we are more continental breakfast people and really wish this was an option for this at least once or twice during the week. I get that some people like to sit down and eat breakfast and be waited on, but some people just like to get their own and be on their way. After the first day we opted to just order it and take it back to our rooms. There is no Keurig machine for your coffee. I was beginning to wonder if we would ever get hotel service like we did years ago where the hotel cared about leaving a good impression for you to come back, and Archer brought my faith back they care about cleanliness, safety and a great experience. I asked my travel agent to book this hotel for us, and I told her that Archer hotels should be on her 5 star list of hotels. We will definitely be booking this hotel again on...
Read moreMy wife and I were out shopping. When we walked by and saw that they weren't to busy (unlike many of the nearby places), we decided to give this new place a try. The menu is short but did have more than a few options that sounded appetizing to each of us. Although the food was described really well on the menu, somehow the execution fell short of expectation. We shared a flat bread entree as an appetizer. I'm glad that neither of us preferred this as a main course as we were too hungry for this to be a satiating meal. The flat bread was a little underdone for my taste, both in temperature and quantity of toppings. The flavor just didn't show up. My wife ordered a kale salad with rare tuna. It looked wonderful but still lacked in the flavor department although her tuna did appear to be cooked wow beautifully. My flatiron steak sandwich was pretty good. The flavor was there but the execution could have been better. I ordered the steak cooked to medium rare, and it was. The steak was cut into large strips and placed between a round roll. With all of the toppings, every bite I took caused the sandwich to fall apart in my hands. This might be a fork and knife sandwich despite the size of it not being all that generous. The house made potato chips that came with the sandwich were the simple highlight of my meal. My wife agreed as she are about half of my generous prob right off of my plate. Some were closer to the done-ness of Spanish potatoes, but no complaints here! My wife ordered a prosecco that we were both underwhelmed by and I ordered a serviceable old fashioned (maybe I would've been happier with their Manhattan). Anyway, the food was good but considering the price ($$$) it just was not...
Read moreArcher hotel is a nice surprise as far as hotels go. Their rates are good for the area and for the hotel quality, and their website offers varying promotions. The hotel itself is mostly quiet, and classy, and the rooms are clean and crisp.
We stayed in the studio suite which came with a full couch and a bar area that included a variety of cup options, plates, cutlery, a small sink, mini fridge and microwave, which was very cool. The food at the hotel isn't that great, the options are quite limited so having plates in the room itself for outside food was a nice touch and made things homey. The seating space and complimentary slippers also helped build a warm environment for our stay.
The air conditioning was the best hotel AC I've experienced and was set at a perfect room temperature when we arrived. The system was quiet and efficient.
The bed was amazing. Plush pillows and comforters and it had a very secure mattress cover. The sheets were very clean on arrival (no stray hairs or lint!). Very inviting. I didn't want to leave!
I also loved that the bathroom had a separate toilet space with a door that closed fully; the main bathroom door is sliding and also has a lock. Many chic or modern hotels don't offer great bathroom privacy, so this was much appreciated!
The staff was also lovely. Housekeeping said hello to us when we saw them and a manager opened the door for us when we were leaving with a luggage trolley.
Only complaints are the lack of streaming services (no HBO or Netflix), and the water pressure. Shower itself was lovely but the water pressure was...
