So my wife and I went to Wake n Bake for breakfast on Wednesday June 14. We had to drop our son off for summer camp at 9am and decided to get breakfastwife loves Wake n Bake, and in particular their coffee. We arrived and there were maybe 3 other patrons in the restaurant. We were greeted by a wonderful young woman behind the bar. We were able to sit wherever we wanted. She met us at our table quickly and took our drink order. If these ratings were based on her, this would have been 5’s. She was great throughout. Now, this is where it begins to go down hill. My wife order coffee. This is a restaurant named Wake n Bake. You would hope they have coffee. They didn’t have coffee. Yikes. But, they could make “coffee drinks like lattes and espresso, etc…” I’ve never claimed to be a smart man, but can’t you grind that coffee a little more coarse and make coffee? Next, we both settled on the Maui French Toast. You’ll never guess what happened. They were out of the bread for the French toast. However, I was told they could do it with white bread. I thought sure, why not. The vanilla cream cheese frosting should cover for the fact they are using a less sweet bread. But, no. I was informed by the waitress that severed us our food, that they in fact don’t “do that anymore. They just do cream cheese.” She is the reason for the star deductions on wait staff. And when I say it was a tiny amount of cream cheese, I mean basically none existent. She offered to bring me more, I said sure and thank you and then reminded her I was due a cup of fresh fruit too. She said sure no problem. I was brought out another drop of cream cheese the same size as the first, and a cup of canned peaches. Maybe we caught a bad day, or bad time, because we have been here before and it has been better (one time we got a very unhappy waitress and that soured is on the place...
Read moreFirst time guest to your establishment, had heard good things about it and decided to try it for my adult sons birthday. No instructions anywhere upon entering as to whether to seat yourself or wait for seating, finally caught someone’s eye and she told us to seat ourselves.
That was the last time we saw or heard from ANYONE in the establishment except Tyler, the waiter! He came and took our drink order right away end brought drinks and said our waitress would be over right away to get our orders. We waited and waited and the place was not full, there were 3 other tables seated and 2 people at the bar, everyone around us got served and completed their meals and several waitresses walked past us multiple times without even inquiring if we had been helped! The owner stopped at the next table and chit-chatted with the family there but never even looked our way. Tyler finally stopped by again about 15-20 minutes later and we told him no one had helped us at all but him, he then promptly took our order, was at least 30 minutes before we got our order and Tyler delivered it, checked on us and finished up with us. We were not even Tyler’s table but he did a terrific job taking care of us!
So, in summary, the owners/manager/waitresses need a refresher course in customer service and Tyler needs a raise!! Food was good, kind of expensive but tasty but if it was not for Tyler, we would not even consider going back and would certainly not recommend to any...
Read moreFood was amazing and like all good things, it was worth waiting for. We were fortunate that we had good friends to talk with while we waited for our food as the wait was substantial. I had a crab and cream cheese omelet with added mushrooms and it was phenomenal! If I could change one thing, I'd prefer fresh mushrooms over canned, but it was still delicious. Wife and one kid had Its all Gravy Baby with biscuits and they loved them. Daughter had Maui French toast. She said that the bacon was extraordinary. We ate well and the price for the four of us was 40 bucks not counting tip and that included a delicious bloody Mary for me. I wish I could remember our server's name because I'd give her an extra shout out. A beautiful young lady that was extremely pleasant and helpful. Would absolutely eat here again and certainly suggest...
