Wendy's — Restaurant in Burlington

Edit: Two years later...Aug 4th 2019. I don’t know what happened but, I see some changes. Used to love bringing my son to this location. I did show up just about 10:50 am. I know it is earlier than most might come in on a Sunday but, the first impression was not good as I opened the door and was overwhelmed by the smell of old frying oil. Then well, we are already here and my son wanted some nuggets with fries. Ordered and waited, waited and then waited a little bit more. I understand and I am not in a hurry but something was going on. Meanwhile, since we had time to spare, my son looks in the soda machine and says there are bugs. I ask, “What do you mean?” I wave my hand under the dispenser and sure enough, a healthy number of gnats start swarming around. I then notice there is another colony by the ketchup and the napkins. “Oh, yummy. What a treat!”

Almost twenty minutes later, I am considering just walking away and head to another location but I know my son will be upset. What the hell, at the very least we should be grateful we are getting some of this, “used to be cheap, now expensive, slow (fast) food”

Too bad. Can’t expect much I guess from a group that likely hate their job, get paid badly at it and management is probably the worst part of it. Been here for an hour an no one else has come in, except the employees.

Very nice staff. I would give them a five star but they need an improvement. The store was not ready for opening as far as a couple of chairs still stacked and some tables needed a final wiping. I could tell right away it was due to short staffing. A typical corporate "solve it all" of an excuse. However, as mentioned before, very nice, helpful and welcoming staff! I will still come here whenever in the area.

HQ, please help this store find some more good people like the ones that took care of me this morning. I have been here for about 45 minutes and they have some loyal regulars that are even on a first name basis. Great group...

How can you give negative stars?

This is close to work and I eat there a couple days a week for lunch. The lines inside are crazy, 10+ min waits are normal.

If you use the drive thru - no matter what you order do not pull up without checking what they give you. They always screw up something.

Today I ordered a chicken sandwich and before I pulled out I confirmed that they didn't give me the ketchup or honey mustard dipping sauce as I requested.

The kid at the window obliged but when I got back to the office I found that they gave me a hamburger instead of the chicken sandwich and no straw.

The folks manning the drive thru window are not paying attention. Mistakes have happened each and every time I go thru drive thru.

Today was the first time they didn't give me a straw though. The kid looked distracted, maybe high but at some level they need to pay attention.

And I tried calling their number to complain but they didn't bother to pick it up. So maybe they are overworked along with inattentive.

Either way watch out if you try and eat here.

And no napkins...

This Wendys never gets our orders completly right. There's always something like adding mayo where there shouldn't be, or giving us an entirely different sandwich. The food quality seems low. Out of the 4 times we've been here, it was only good once. We LOVE wendys and have traveled far and wide trying them across the country for fun and hungryness because we travel often, so we know if it's good or not... this one not so much. It's a bummer. I had some ranch from a salad ranch packet and it was SOUR.. literally the worst most bitter tasting ranch I've ever had. Ranch is a staple in most of my food, this made me never want it again. It was absolutely awful. I don't know if it had a date on it or not, but stay away from that. Gave me gross feelings about eating a burger with ranch on it so I couldn't finish it. We will definitely be back, because Wendys is usually good, but we're hoping these disappointments are temporary.

And keep in mind, this happens even when they're slow. Like less than 3 cars there and still making...
