Review of Nedals gyro restaurant. My sisters came to town so I took them to Nedals. First time for me also. First impression was the dead poinsettia sitting at the entrance. Not a good look. Went into dining area which is very dimly lighted. Reminded me too much of going into a bar. Besides I like to see what I’m eating. So too dark for me. Got waited on promptly. I ordered chickpea salad. Sisters ordered Brussels sprouts and mushroom soup. Waitress came back after ten minutes and said they had no chickpea salad. Feeling pressured to just order something else, I chose tabouli salad, not knowing what it was. To my dismay it is basically a bowl of chopped parsley with dressing. I’ve never eaten a bowl of parsley in my life. lol. Sister said the mushroom soup was good. The Brussels sprouts were very tasty but they were raw, like they weren’t cooked at all. I took them home and cooked them. Don’t know if that’s how the Greeks eat them or if they didn’t have time to cook them. French fries were good and chicken fingers were good. Everything is very clean. Waitstaff were friendly. Didn’t get a check. Went to cashier and had to tell her what we ordered. Definitely much healthier than eating like say, at eatnpark, where everything is probably made from frozen. If Greek food is your thing. I’d like to go for breakfast and try the shakshooka. I don’t know. Maybe...
Read moreI’ve been here a few times this month for lunch and dinner. I’ve had a wonderful experience every time! The food is amazing, authentic, and the waitresses and waiters are very down to earth, kind, uplifting, and know the menu very well. The owner even came out to check to see if the food was good my first time there. He is very pleasant and a joy to be around; everyone there is a joy to be around! The atmosphere is very nice and the music is soothing! They have THE BEST desserts in town, everything is fresh and homemade! I had the lamb kabob meal, the gyro pita, chicken roll, grilled lamb burger, Kibbeh, and the Baba Ghanouj….. Which was all amazingly, delicious!!!! This is definitely a Diamond in the rough restaurant in town; if you haven’t tried it out…. You are definitely missing out!!! The desserts over the times that I’ve been there I’ve had end of summer coconut berry cake…. It was the best cake I’ve ever had in my life!!! I have also had their peanut butter and chocolate cheese cake which was amazing, and their date nut logs which were also amazing! The prices are great, the food is amazing, the people are wonderful, the atmosphere is relaxing, what are you waiting on…. Call your friend, go on a date, ask a family member, or even just go in by yourself…. I promise you, you will be...
Read morei came back to change my review. when this place first opened everything was fantastic, fresh, and authentic. but over the last year or so the food quality has consistently fallen, you no longer get free bread or chips for the table, and the desserts are starting to drop in quality as well. our most recent visit was the last straw. we ordered 2 rice puddings and both of them were riddled with mold. they offered us a free exchange so we swapped for a lemon meringue cake. we took it home and all 3 pieces tasted spoiled as the meringue had gone bad and had a rotten bitter taste, they were inedible. we called the restaurant about it and they claimed it was fresh and they just tasted it yesterday. also every time we go there seems to be a new inexperienced/unprofessional waiter that makes a lot of mistakes or provides sub par service. usually when the owner isn't there. its a shame because we loved this place when it first opened and ate there frequently. the decor is still nice and its nice that they sell mediterranean spices and ingredients. but i think i would be better off just buying the ingredients there and just making my own meal...
