Pennie's Bake Shop & Espresso Bar — Restaurant in Butler

We used Pennies for our rehearsal dinner cake (maraschino cherry) and our wedding cake (almond with raspberry filling) on Aug 9-10th of this year.

To preface, we weren’t even going to have a fancy cake to cut because we aren’t “cake” people due to a gluten intolerance! The week before our wedding, my husbands work used Pennies for GF cupcakes and we both fell in love. We went and ordered a cake a few days later for our wedding and rehearsal dinner- THATS HOW GOOD IT IS.

For our wedding we didn’t have any reference photos or color swatches and they delivered exactly what we could’ve wanted and with the perfect shade of blue to match! We served sheet cakes from Costco to our guests but many of them wished they could try ours

Our only thing would be, if you have a Saturday wedding, pick it up Friday if possible. We picked it up Wednesday and it was a little more dry on our wedding than anticipated.

The rehearsal dinner cake we served was a complete hit, and everyone loved it!!

I purchased a last minute birthday cake for my then fiance, it was so amazing he wanted them to do our wedding cake. The day of the wedding he went to pick up our cake and they forgot to put the flowers on top. The gentleman working called me, explained what happened. He said he was calling the decorator in that did the cake to add the flowers so they would be exactly the same as the rest of the cake. He also said they would then deliver the cake because of this. They delivered the cake right on time. We also got a 3 dz mixture of their cupcakes. Everything looked and tasted amazing. I’ve only ever been here once, but had a great experience and enjoyed everything I purchased. I brought home goodies for my family, my parents and grandparent, whom all enjoyed their treats too!

There was a large selection of desserts and drinks. I only purchased desserts as I had ate lunch prior. I wasn’t sure what to try, so I got a variety based on the employees recommendations.

I didn’t love the location, as it took forever to be able to make a left hand turn on the road that the bakery is on. The parking lot was empty upon arrival but when I was leaving it was hard to get back out with all of the customers coming in. Didn’t make the trip impossible, but was a bit of an annoyance.
