Lindt Chocolate Shop — Restaurant in Byron Township

As die hard fans of Lindtt we visit the store every time we go to the Tanger outlets in Grand Rapids. To our disappointment and surprise on January 5th 2024 we were “helped” by a certain employee by the name of shakira who was nothing short of rude and unprofessional. The store was offering samples of the lindtt cheesecake flavor. We were a family of 3. When offered by parents took one each and I refused since I wasn’t sure if the flavor. We ended up purchasing a whole bunch of stuff and shakira went around offering the sample lindtts to every single person in the store. When she came back to the counter , me having changed my mind asked for my sample chocolate as well which she plainly refused and said “ it’s one per family”. This was a blatant lie considering she had given one to either of my parents earlier and to every other person in the store. I felt targeted and singled out as the one person who was not allowed to sample a chocolate for no known reason. Also the fact that it was one per family was not true and not fair. Pros: variety and clean store Cons: no staff interaction (it wasn’t busy/no other customers), more expensive than grocery stores

We stopped in last Friday night to check out the truffle flavors and to purchase a few of the 100% dark chocolate bars. Despite three employees and no other customers, we weren’t greeted, offered assistance, and no one said goodbye as we left. Typically employees are friendly, share sale info, and even offer a complimentary treat to try. We were in there for maybe 8 minutes -I was browsing the dark chocolate basket by the register, and then the dark chocolate bars on sale in back -even when I was 2 feet away, no one interacted, they just chatted amongst themselves. I’m pretty friendly and approachable and there were no other customers -so this was a bizarre experience for me. I ended up leaving -no one said goodbye or thanks for stopping in. I am extremely disappointed with my recent visit to the Lindt store. While I have always appreciated the quality of the products and have been a frequent customer, the behavior of the front desk staff during my last visit was unacceptable.

The lady at the front desk was distributing samples to all other customers but deliberately chose not to offer any to us. This level of selective treatment is highly unprofessional and disrespectful, especially toward loyal customers.

We visit Lindt frequently because we value the experience and the products, but this incident has left a sour taste. I urge management to address this matter seriously and ensure consistent and fair customer service for everyone.
