Phoenix Rising Bakery — Restaurant in Byron Township

My mom and I usually go in there every once in awhile, but this time it was something different. Today when we went in there was a customer in front of us who had ordered six donuts and wanted a box instead of a bag for her daughter's birthday, saying she wanted it to be look pretty and if she could have one. After practically begging for a box the lady gave it to her and rang her up which came out to $5.25. After that customer had left we ordered our 4 donuts and also asked for a box instead of a bag, the baker (?) rolled her eyes and sighed before saying "a box for 4 donuts?!" Which my mom replied "Yes please". Our total came to $7.42 for 4 donuts and a chocolate milk which is outrageous because the lady in front of us got 6 donuts for $5.25!! Anyways my mother and I will not be coming back here again, she was extremely rude & I don't recommend giving service to a rude person. Too bad a usually good place that we liked going to, has such a toxic person...

Upon walking I was greeted by the sweetest woman. She made my whole experience there so pleasant. Grand Rapids is a huge city but walking into this bakery it felt like a small town where everyone slows down and takes time to talk to each other. She helped me pick out some donuts, it was no easy task because they all looked amazing. Besides pastries and donuts they also had breakfast sandwiches. I can’t wait to go back and grab a breakfast sandwich. The pastries we had were the best baked good I have ever had. There was a donut, raspberry rose, I believe is what it was called was heaven. I cannot recommend this...

THE BEST DONUTS. PERIOD. I’ve been all over the US/other countries, tried many donut shops. In GR, THIS is the THE PLACE!

And… They have orange icing! If you don’t see any out there, ask for it and they will go make one! So very yummy!

If you know of any other places that compare, please let me know, and I’ll try them out.

Quick question: Does ANYONE know if they are open today? It’s Labor day, 2023 and my 7 year old started talking about donuts this morning… When I call I just get voicemail, but maybe they are just to bust to answer? Trying to “crowdsource” the answer...
