Owl Eye Coffee Roasters — Restaurant in Cadillac

*Disclaimer: This review is gonna be a long one.. but its well deserved 🙂

Before I start with my review, I do want to say that I am not a big tea drinker nor a coffee drinker. I occasionally like to get iced teas and coffee but if I'm being honest, never really liked drinks from coffee places. I've lived in Cadillac almost my entire life, and I have to say I'm a big fan of small local owned businesses as I personally believe it's a highlight of living in this town. We have had Cafes in this town that have came and gone, and I'll admit I was never a huge fan. But this establishment has something special. I have been coming here once a week for three weeks now, and I've been wanting to write a review just didn't know what to say. I mean, what is there to say? This place is amazing! But anyways on to the review. Upon walking into this place, you're welcomed with a bright, warm, and calming atmosphere that definitely brings in the Coffee love vibes 🙂 it's small as a local establishment should be, but there's enough room for company that's for sure. Now for the drinks.. we'll, as I said before I'm not a coffee or tea drinker (so if I miss pronounce things, please don't hurt me 😅) everytime I've gone here, I've had 0 clue what to get. I will say I prefer tea over coffee so I have been gravitated towards those drinks than coffee brewed. I'm also an iced guy, love my drinks to be cold. Anyways, I've always asked the baristas for recommendations and everytime they have been so polite and patient, words cannot describe how thankful I am. I understand you know customer service is an expectation but.. it doesn't feel like it's your standard customer service with them. There warm hospitality feels absolutely special, you can feel that they care about their customers and their opinions about their drinks, their establishment, everything. The individuals that work here are hard working and caring souls, it's special. You won't find better service anywhere I promise you that. They have always been so friendly and open to conversation as well! They take care into engaging with their customers, once again it all makes you feel more welcomed.

Okay... time for the drinks...

The first time I came here, I had gotten an iced Majeste Chia Tea Late ( hoping I spelled that correctly) and I was absolutely in love! It was perfect, the tea had a rich fresh brewed taste that definitely stimulated all taste buds. The second week, I got the London Fog which appearance wise in itself definitely spoke for the name! It was stunning and definitely appealing! Tasted like fruit loops in a sense, but I do mean that in a good way! It was incredible! Today, I'm not really sure of the name, because I already forgot, but it was honestly my favorite out of the three. The drink was a iced green tea with milk, coconut flavoring, lavender, and raspberry. This was hands down the best cold drink I have ever had! This place just doesn't dissapoint in any areas! I truly do mean that! I highly recommend to give the staff and the team here a chance, and I think you will find one of if not the best establishment in Northern Michigan. As someone that's grown up here in this area, I really appreciate what Owl eye has brought to our community. I'll definitely return, and cannot wait to bring clients in for meetings and gatherings! As I say everytime I leave, I will be coming back...

McLain cycle & Fitness in Cadillac has been using Owl Eye coffee exclusively for both our staff and anyone who walks in and appreciates a great cup of coffee! Jin and Aaron are amazing people and the Cadillac area is blessed to have 2 people who are so passionate about their coffee! I personally have always bought whole bean coffees from the big names and have been satisfied because it's not from a can. I am telling you though...Owl Eye is different, it absolutely blows away anything I have tried in the past. I bought a bag of the Legacy Sumatra and a bag of Opaque the other day. Brewed a pot this morning and honestly, that was the best pot of coffee I have ever made! I found the price reasonable considering the beans are being roasted right there in the back room at the store, seriously it doesn't get any fresher than that. You don't get that with the Meijer brand beans or starbucks. Bottom line: if you like coffee, you have to try Owl Eye. Jin and Aaron can help you find the coffee that is best suited for your pallet and they can educate you and explain the process and the flavor profiles which will blow your mind! I had no idea how good a black cup of coffee really was until I started using Owl Eye. If you truly enjoy great coffee then you will find that the price is simply what good coffee cost! Like good healthy food you get what you pay for! I won't buy coffee anywhere else.

we were amazed when me, my mom, and sister came in the other day. it was memorial day so not only were we in from out of town we weren’t sure of the hours either so i called and one of the owners aaron said as long as we were there within the hour he’d be there. the little interior is so cute and comfy, if we didn’t have to go i could’ve stayed there a day. aaron and my mom started talking (both being small business owners) while i talked to his wife jen about some of her favorite drinks. my mom mentioned that i love exploring coffee shops and aaron got excited and started talking to me about the different beans he roasted and even invited into the back to watch the roasting process! we staying an hour past closing talking to the two owners and their daughter about their lives and business. it was incredibly refreshing being from a larger city. my mom ordered a dirty chai (it was soooo good) i got an iced latte with cinnamon bun syrup, and my sister got the tea. it was all so good! we’ll definitely come back the next time...
