I usually love this place but recently had a horrible experience. Once a week I treat myself to their fried rice as lunch so as usual, I called in a pickup order for a side of fried rice. Upon arrival, I was told my total would be $10 and some change. (For context, it is usually $5.35 when I’ve ordered this in the past). Out of shock, I asked where the $10 came from and why it was no longer $5, the lady at the front counter explained in a very harsh tone that during lunch they only had one option of rice, the vegetable fried rice, which is what I had wanted. Still not answering my question of why it was $10, I grabbed a takeout menu to show her the price on the menu for a side of fried rice, which read $3.50. She promptly grabbed the phone behind the desk and began yelling at presumably the people in the kitchen to cancel my order. She then looked at me and began yelling at me stating that I should’ve ordered the vegetable fried rice and not fried rice if I wanted to pay the $3.50 compared to $10. Mind you, at this point the whole restaurant is watching her yell at me in shock. Trying to compromise, I apologized and said I will take the $10 worth of vegetable fried rice since it was already prepared and that is what I wanted anyways. To which she replied if I ever order fried rice again I need to say vegetable fried rice. I understand people have bad days, but I felt it was unacceptable to be treated that way considering I was a paying customer. Their fried rice is good, but not worth the hassle of being...
Read moreHey guys legit reviewer here Here are my 10 reasons why this place is a 2/5 star rating.
The instance I come in it is so dang busy. Of course because it was a Sunday
I grabbed a chair and was crowded with people.
They never offered me a drink. And I got silverware by someone else asking for me to get one.
Was so loud and almost claustrophobic in the place.
The decorations are ehhh.
The food was a 5/10. Half of the food was good and the other was disgusting. The shrimp there was 0/10 didn't even eat it. I usually love shrimp but depressing. Didn't even try the mussels because ew! The shrimp soup thing was disgusting. The jello was ok I guess. The strawberry cake was good but it's not really Chinese. The chocolate cake I thought I'm glad I didn't eat it because it's apparently coffee cake. Ewww. The French fries and crab wontons are amazing. The broccoli looked ehhhh. The fired rice is terrible, Ive made way better fried rice. I tried the breaded turkey and it was cold. And the breaded chicken was hard, so definitely not fresh.
The employees were bouncing around having no clue they work there
The entrance to getting a table is terrible.
The price is ok but really it wasn't fun to be there.
Never coming back. Rather go to...
Read moreImmediately seated. REAL CRAB in their dishes!!! Not the imitation stuff so if it is cut like the ones in my dish (the seafood sizzler platter), make sure you shell them and watch for the (I always called them crab tendons...those clear hard bits that run through the center of the meat) . Pot stickers, won ton soup, egg rolls, and egg drop soup are ALL PERFECT. The shrimp, honestly couldn't have been better cooked! Great snap to it and the veggies were just as wonderful! My boyfriend got the dragon phoenix and I have to say that we really enjoyed the chicken and both preferred the lighter sauce over the brown sauce so I think next time I will try the seafood medley dish with the light sauce. Overall those cooks did an absolutely wonderful job. I am pretty picky about the food that I go out to eat because I enjoy the whole experience. The atmosphere was quiet and calming. Seemed quaint and honestly humble considering the masterpieces that came out of the kitchen. This food is definitely good enough that I'd make the extra drive to come here before I'd drive to Traverse City for their food. Literal 10 out of 10 would definitely recommend. The server was wonderful as well but could've been a little...
