So I usually take pics of the food….so instead I will tell you about the food. Here’s what happened. We ordered a half of chicken with rice and beans for the sides, fried plantains, A chicken and a beef empanada, and 2 pork tacos. The food arrived smelling and looking so delicious I dove right in. By the time I remembered to take pics everything was destroyed because it was so good. Empanadas were both great my favorite was the beef. You have to try the sauce that comes with the empanadas I could drink this stuff! The plantains were fried perfectly and had just the right sweetness that made you want more. The pork tacos were simple yet very flavorful and the handmade tortillas were the best so tender. The Chicken was the star it was cooked perfectly with a golden seasoned skin the meat was juicy and came right off the bone with little to no effort. If you like spicy get the spicy sauce served on the side it is fire!(both heat and flavor). Needless to say after that hefty lunch we headed back to the counter and got another 1/2 chicken and 2 beef empanadas to go. Don’t miss this place when you’re in or near Calabash NC. The staff, food, and atmosphere deserve...
Read moreI've had time to go back and write a quick review of this place. Originally I only left a rating.
I go here usually once a month or more with family. It's a very nice, clean, and beautiful restaurant. The staff is very friendly, and the food is out in a timely manner.
The selection of food is great, although I've been so obsessed with their empanadas that I haven't had the chance to order anything else. I usually order several (3, or 4) at a time. Along with this, we usually get a soft drink, and Plantains. All of the food we try is excellent, and I'm always glad to come here again.
I've attached a photo of the Empanadas I ordered. They really were delicious. I would recommend that anyone in the area, visit at least once.
As for the restaurants physical qualities... It's a decently sized place. They have table seating, and booth seating. You can easily seat four people in the booths. Amenities such as napkins are provided at the table. It's well lit, and very clean. Our family typically sits at a booth, and the seating is...
Read moreWow! This was by far my favorite place that we ate from on this vacation. We stayed in Sunset Beach, and wanted a little something different for lunch, so we picked MMM Que Rico based on reviews. All I can say is, GO! If you like flavorful food, this is your place. The guacamole was mildly spicy, herbaceous, honestly, the best I have had. Served with a different sort of chip that was thicker and able to stand up to the scoop, as well as crunchy and fabulous. The empanada pastry melted in my mouth, and the chicken filing was perfectly moist and seasoned. My husband got the 1/4 chicken with beans and fries, and the chicken was so moist, tender, and again, perfectly seasoned! The beans were delicious and in a thin broth, rather than being thick and soupy, and they were so good and perfectly cooked. Fries were fresh and seemed possibly house made. My husband is a chef and hard to impress, but he loved his meal, and this will be a "must do" every time we are in the Brunswick area. ...
