I love, love, love Denny’s. Especially since it’s one of the only homey, sit down, family friendly restaurants that are still affordable after paying for 3-4 meals. I was a frequent in the Nampa location until it closed. We went to the Caldwell for the first time and were just. Disappointed. My daughters chicken strips came out first, perfect, my boyfriends chicken fried steak second, perfect. My chicken fried steak came out but my mashed potatoes tasted funny, so I tasted my boyfriends and his tasted fine. The only way I could describe the taste of mine was spoiled sour cream. Then my friends chicken fried chicken came out and I will let the pictures speak for themselves. 🤢 Completely raw, the batter was still liquid on top. I HATE DOING THIS I swear and I’m so sorry because I am the last person to ever make a fuss in a restaurant. I know how hard yall work, I know how shady your pay is, I know you get yelled at all day by entitled jerks. I don’t want to contribute to the negative you already deal with on a daily basis when you’re just trying to do your job.. but we sat down and got halfway through our meals before we were checked on and offered drink refills. 20 minutes later I’m still avoiding my potatoes, my friend avoiding the chicken on her plate, empty cups and we are clearly watching for a waiter to see us flag them down but they’re walking right past us. It wasn’t until we asked a waiter tending to other tables to send our waiter to us that she finally came, and then had no clue how to deal with an issue and had to call over someone else. We had to ask for a box for my daughters left overs 3x, and then we had to track them down to pay for it too. Nampa Denny’s - top tier. Caldwell Denny’s - Salmonella and little to no service.
HOWEVER - The twins with dreads that work there used to work at the Nampa location and I can almost guarantee you will have a positive experience with either of them as your servers, even if there is a problem with your food. They handle it. They check on you. They fix the issues, and they always have good attitudes. Protect them...
Read moreYou can't tell in the photo, but this loaded baked potato soup tasted like an ashtray. I am not exaggerating, it stunk up our whole table and made me gag when I tasted it. When the waitress came back to give us our bill, I pointed to it and was about to say "something is seriously wrong with this" but before I could get a single word out she stopped me saying, "I know, it's really bad, we're throwing it out (gesturing towards the kitchen) and not charging you for it." She said that she questioned it when she was about to serve it but that the manager said "Seems fine to me." When we went to pay for the bill, the manager asked, "How was everything?" I wasn't going to say anything because they obviously knew about the problem and had not charged us for that mishap, but asking me how everything was after that? Really? So, I told him, "I am surprised that it was brought to your attention and yet you still decided to serve it. It was obviously bad, you don't even have to taste it, it smells absolutely horrible." He then said, "I can't smell." To which I said, "Trust your people then. If they are telling you it's bad, then believe them and don't serve it." Instead of acting like a manager owning the responsibility, he became defensive and shifted blame to the waitress, saying "I told her to use her best judgement." He just freely and unapologetically threw his people under the bus in an attempt to save face. He should not be working with people under him and also has no idea how to deescalate a situation with an unhappy customer.
We've been to this Denny's multiple times and most the time it is fine. This visit I was knowingly served an ashtray disguised as soup. It demonstrates a flagrant and complete disregard for...
Read moreTo whom it may concern, As an old Assistant Store Manager at Denny’s, I have had the privilege of working with Carol Rojo for one year while they held a position of Sever. My Role was to manage the restaurant and to keep the employees on their feet and to give the best that they could to the customers. I also made sure to handle anything that they could not handle on their own and make the restaurant a safe and enjoyable place for my team to be. I would also be out on the serving floor with my tam as much as I could and help them in any way that was needed. During her tenure, Carol Rojo consistently demonstrated exceptional problem-solving abilities, leadership skills, and teamwork. Carol Rojo played a pivotal role in stepping up to the plate when there were any issues with the services given to any of the customers and always knew how to make the customers happy before they left the building. She was also willing to step up to the plate when there needed to be a manager there (Managers would have to sometimes leave to take deposits to the bank). She was always willing to help the girls get the plates out to other tables that where not even her tables, she was always willing to help the other girls and go above and beyond. Carol was not only reliable and dedicated but also exhibited a strong work ethic and commitment to achieving the team’s goals. In addition to her professional skills, Carol Rojo exhibited a positive attitude and outstanding interpersonal skills.
