If you're from the Bay like I am, and you've been in Idaho for a bit, you'll have surmised that Idaho is nearly perfect with the exception being that it doesn't really have good mexican food, particularly a good burrito.
Tacos Colima does about as good of a job when it comes to idaho with their tacos. These aren't the socal tacos you're gonna find with the double tortilla, the sauce, and the cooked/burnt jalapeño, but they aren't bad.
I would give the carbe asada burrito here a 3/5. I'm not sure why, but Idaho burritos tend to be extremely heavy on the refried beans and rice. This burrito had a ton of cold cheese throw in as well, much like something from Chipotle.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. "He who conquers the left side, conquers the world."
The first legitimate burrito maker that puts up shop in idaho will be a...
Read moreIt was my first time experiencing street tacos from a taco truck and I'm wowed by this place. Each taco is $1.50. Since I've been wanting to try street tacos in a long time, I didn't know what to get so I ask the guy to give me a variety of meat. And every single meat was so good. I also love how there not much fillers and more on meat so it's worth it. After I finished my food. I ordered 20 more pieces to take home and have my friend to try it. The tacos were really good. Ooohh, I also had their horchata ($2.50 for medium size, $3 for large) and that was good. The only thing I didn't like is their flan ($2 for a cup). I am a huge fan of flan and what I tasted was like an flan colored jello, it didn't even tasted like egg or milk at all, I had a bite and that was it. Overall the food is good. Can't wait to try...
Read moreFirst thing I noticed was the Chicharrones on the menu. Then I noticed how large the menu was, tons of different meat for a truck. Grabbed some Asada, Adobada, Carnitas, Chorizo, Buche and Chicharrones. As well as grilled Jalapeño and onions. The Chicharrones were the first to go. Great red chili sauce on those and it was juicy and fatty, done exactly like I like it. Only place in the valley that I've found so far that has this. Asada was good, better than most places, carnitas was also very good. The Buche was cooked well, but bland. The chorizo was also a bit different, not hot spicy, but too much of sone spices that basically over powered the pork flavor. But even without a strong Chorizo, this truck is a 5 star for sure. Great prices, 2 tortillas per taco, good red and green...
