Hamburger Connection — Restaurant in Caldwell

I've been going to hamburger connection since I was a kid until now, and I'm almost 30. They always had great food and the best service. An older woman used to work the drive-thru window almost every day it seemed. She was always so sweet and nice and always joked with me cuz I would order the same thing almost every time. I may be wrong, but I always assumed she was the owner cuz she took so much pride in doing a good job and making the customers happy.

Well that was years ago. That kind woman doesn't work the window anymore and hamburger connection has gone downhill in a major way these past few years. Today was my final day eating at this establishment.

My experience the past couple years has been this: The food is still the same (when cooked properly), although the prices are high and the wait is considerably longer when compared to traditional fast food joints. The service has completely gone out the window. The girls that work there are not pleasant. I cannot remember the last time one of the girls was friendly. You'll find friendlier faces at the DMV to be quite honest. My order is constantly incorrect. And my food has been burnt well over half the times I've gone there in the past year.

A refund is never offered, an apology is never offered. They've tried to make me take the burnt order and when I say I'm not paying for it they begrudgingly start the order over. And they are not fast about it...it usually takes an extra 10-15 minutes.

Outside their drive-thru window they have a sticker that says something like, "if you liked us tell a friend. If you didn't tell us," with a phone number to call. Out of respect, I tried to call and talk about my unfortunate experiences but no one ever picked up. I left a message and never got a call back. It seems they don't care what their customers think anymore.

I got in line behind 3 other cars in the drive thru and waited at least 20 minutes to place my order and had to yell my order into the speaker 4 different times just so that my order would be taken correctly. After another 20 minutes I finally got to the window to pay for my order with my Credit card and didn't get my order until another 15 minutes had passed and another 5 minutes after that I finally got my Credit card back and my drink from my order. The Hamburger looked like someone just threw it together and a big mess at that the fries were cold like they just took them out of the refridgerator the Dr. Pepper drink I order tasted like it was half water and half soda! On top of all that the prices of everything has been raised and before I even got to order I personally saw 4 different customers go into place orders and get all of there orders all before I could even place my order in the drive-thru, Terrible experience. In the past I have had 1 Large Shake that spilt in my car because the employee would not put a lid on the shake and had refused to even remotely compensate me for the shake and 100% of the time when I did by shakes they were all ready melted to 70% liquid before I would even get it from...

My wife simply LOVES hamburger Connection. Although we moved here from Utah in recent months and isn't what we were accustomed to, since her first burger and fries she was hooked! Now, she insists and looks forward to going to Hamburger Connection on a usually weekly basis. Sometimes 2-3 times a week.

I'll offer to make her favorite food, remind her the benefits of eating at home and saving money but she still insists on getting food here. I don't know what their secret is but I have never seen my wife anywhere near this happy while eating fast food before Hamburger Connection or anywhere else. Her favorite! Hamburger Connection is only second to the bedroom.

Staff always seems to solely consist of female high schoolers; 16-18? Always polite and usually joyful. Sometimes spark a quick but fun chat.
