Caldwell Public Library — Attraction in Caldwell

Caldwell Library has really improved. And wow the librarian I spoke with a while back was SO helpful on the phone saying that she would renew a book, that my daughter lost, until we found it!! No late fees and no having to pay for another book (I was prepared to do so). She said, "It should be somewhere in your house..." She was right. We found it the next week!! Also I noticed that they started an auto renew thing because I was late with some books and I got an email saying it was auto renewed! THANK YOU!! I love the upgrades they did to the library and they've really been a lot better about classes and options for people to come and be a part of something. I also like that they have the books you can buy right in the library available at any time. Nampa has a store with weird hours and I would LOVE to see what they have, but can't because they close so early. I like that Caldwell library stays open so late too. They have a large selection of audio books too.

From the second I walked into this Library I loved it. They always have something fun going on that is open to the community (for example, my 8 year old and I like to go pokèmon hunting and they have a group that meets just for that purpose). They have an app that is available if you don't have a ton of time to browse but are still an avid reader. So you pick whatever you desire to immerse yourself in and they let you know when it arrives so you can pick it up and go about your day. The selection on anime/graphic novels is fantastic and they even have a gaming set up for the gamer on the go. And the little kids nook is adorable, they have a vast variety of books and movies and everything is very easy to find. There are even crafts, games and activities for the ones that need a break from sitting still...sometimes you just gotta move a little 😊 The staff are always happy to help and very kind. I just attended a community story time with my 2 year old. It was outside with bubble play, supposedly, for all ages. It was sort of a free for all and not organized. My son got bubbles in his eye, and I needed help to flush it out. After asking 2 employees for help(who were very rude), I was diected to a hose where I had to soak him to get the soap out... I'm originally from a small town where we constantly went to the library and their children's programs, and always had a great time. Unfortunately I felt like the people running this Caldwell Library program do not seem to like the children and are not good with the community. I am so sad my family doesn't have a friendly...
