Memorial Park — Attraction in Caldwell

There is a lot of picnic tables for use in the band shelter. They fill the liners for the trashes and there is water access and power access as well. The ONLY 3 things to note 1. You CAN NOT put ANY holes in the ground (no tent stakes,stakes for bounce houses ect), 2. You MUST have a "beer permit" printed off and signed by chief of police prior to event if you plan on having ANY alcohol. NO glass is allowed regardless of signed permit. And 3. Be prepared to possible have to boot people out when you 1st arrive to set up. They do have a board they are SUPPOSED to write down event names and dates, so people are aware of when NOT to be in the reserved area, however they do not always follow thru on the filling out the calendar part so have a copy of reservation receipt available for proof in case of any issues. It really is a great park though. Lots of shade from large trees surrounding the entire park. A train museum type experience. The grass is soft. Nice park with big old trees. Good place to wander around and collect ur thoughts/composure. U can sob openly like a baby here and no one will look at u askew or try and intrude into why ur crying like that in public. They also have some very cool old machinery (for agriculture, i think) on display. Youngsters would really get a kick out of that, i suspect, but know that there are barriers to keep ppl from climbing up on the rigs. Not my fav park here, but definitely my 2nd fav. A well established park in the heart of Caldwell. Just several blocks away from downtown and featuring towering trees that offer ample shade during the heat of summer this park also features long pathways for the walker, playground features for the kids as well as an area for events and get togethers.
