El Nopal has become my favorite restaurant since I moved to Adairsville, Ga. I usually go to the Adairsville location but we were meeting friends so we wen to the Calhoun location this time. I will NEVER go to that location ever again! We sat outside because it was a beautiful day & that was a HUGE mistake because the outside seating area isn't screened in & there are trash cans very close so there were so many flies & yellow jackets flying around us & on our food & drinks that it was impossible to enjoy our dining experience! Also, our server was horrible! I do not ever say anything negative about servers or their profession because I've been a server & I know how stressful & demanding it is but our server wasn't very attentive, extremely slow when the restaurant wasn't even busy, & he wasn't hospitable at all. In fact, he had a little bit of a negative attitude towards us. I had ordered my favorite thing on their menu, the California burrito, & also some queso dip for an appetizer. As we we're waiting for our 2nd round of drinks & our appetizer, our main entrees came out! I never received my queso dip but instead had queso dip all over my California burrito!! When he finally brought us our drinks I asked about my appetizer & he looked at me very confused & said "Oh you wanted some queso dip also?" I responded by telling him that I had asked for it when he was taking our order but clearly he misunderstood me or just wasn't listening because there was queso dip poured all over my California burrito & it doesn't come like that. He said he was going to go put the order in but I told him to just forget it because at this point we were all almost done eating & ready for the check. We don't really get to go out very much anymore because of Covid-19 & so I was really looking forward to eating their delicious food & ended up being very disappointed with our dining experience in & not even getting to eat what I wanted. I'm definitely going to stick with their Adairsville location...

I came to this restaurant because it was recommended when I was in town. I have been to many Mexican restaurants in my life, even growing up near the Mexican border so I know authentic Mexican food. The atmosphere and decor was good. The waitress was polite but got my order wrong plus charging me individually making the price higher. I asked for the mandarin Mexican drink jarritos and she said they did not have any till I pointed them out in a open glass fridge behind her. 🙈 I ordered a avocado 🥑 dip that was more onions and tomatoes than avocado which I personally did not care for when avocado is suppose to be the main ingredient it is in the name. My one / suppose to be two cheese enchiladas with white cheese was OK. The cheese sauce tasted great but the corn tortilla with cheese inside was alittle tasteless. The beans and rice were good. The tostada was fair with bean but to much iceberg lettuce. My friend had a shrimp salad dinner that was good they said. I personally don't eat it. They do have orchata to drink which means they are an authentic Mexican restaurant in my book but the meal was lacking in my experience. When I first arrived I saw the big building and sign with a row of chairs sitting out front to the right. The left was the double doors to get in and head right but left to the podium to be seated. It was not long I was seated in a booth near the kitchen. The staff were pleasant the decor and atmosphere were great but the food and staff attention to details or products sold was lacking. Would I come here again ? It's a toss up. This was my experience and I hope yours was...

I am working out of town and have been visiting this particular restaurant often. I would visit here a minimum of three to four times weekly spending at least $30.00 per sitting. I have always opted to sit on the patio and several times I have waited over 20 minutes for service. This is very disappointing and disturbing to me personally when a server seeks my face and knows what I want no questions asked. However getting served here is nearly impossible. I hate to rate service badly however when I stated my issue the manager simply say sorry and no compensation was offered which is fine. But I'll assure you that I personally will never spend another dime at this place as long as I am here. I have worked customer service several years 20 plus as a matter of fact and when u began to treat your customers as a liability instead of a priority there is a...

Great little mexican place. Only giving a 4 star review because the service was a little slow, however the food was good. We were seated very quickly and greeted several minutes later. We all ordered and were promptly served chips and salsa. Our drinks got there several minutes after that, and it took approximately 25 minutes for our entree to arrive. In the photo attached you will see a cheese enchilada, beef burrito and a chile relleno. I think the food is a very good value and the recipes taste like authentic family recipes. As for the service, I would be willing to bet that it was an off night and give them another try.

I used to love this restaurant, but lately it feels like they’ve become more focused on money than customers. I ordered a cheese dip, a pint of salsa, and even paid for an extra bag of chips after being told the order only came with one. Maybe I misunderstood and assumed that meant one per dip, but it was really frustrating to get home and find only two bags of chips after paying for an extra. I made it a point to stop by to add to my own home cooked taco night and support a local business, but unfortunately, I don’t think I’ll be doing that anymore
