BEWARE.
I normally frequent this DQ for its food quality and good service. Today was not the same. I was here last maybe a month or so ago, and my driver to come back was the seasonal cotton candy blizz. It's been my favorite since its initial release way back when.
I tried to swing by yesterday at 8pm sharp to find a closed building. I came back today a bit earlier to sit in line for 20 minutes, get my cc blizz wrong. Lobby is closed, so I sit in drive thru another 20 mins and what I'm told at the window is "yeah, we've been out of cotton candy so we've just been adding sprinkles". My friend, sprinkles and cotton candy may both be made of sugar but one includes wax and does not give the correct flavor profile. It's also texturally lacking. Why in the world would you not have told me that when I ordered, like any other place does???
There are now 4+ people, all pretty young, congregating at the window over my "problem" and legitimately not understanding what the issue is. Karenize me all you want, but if I'm going to pay $4 for a small icecream from somewhere I had to go out of my way for, I would've gone to Sonic (who is closed equally as much).
One of the girls comes forward with a cup of naked icecream and tries to hand it off to me with a big smile saying, "I thought you just didn't want the sprinkles so I just made it like this. It tastes the same." No. Just no. I didn't ask for that. Resources have been wasted after I've already asked for a correction or substitute. The window closes and raucous laughter ensues.
These kids need to be taught some proper window-service etiquette, no matter how long they're slated to work there. Additionally, for how many people I've seen in there with a shut down lobby, why were all orders taking 10+ minutes per car?
FYI, I've been in food service and these things would...
Read moreDecided it was a good night for an ice cream and some chicken tenders. Went through the drive thru, proceeded to order, come to ask for my drink, I said “I’d like a half and half sweet tea, half sweet and half unsweetened” which in some cases half and half applies for lemonade and tea mixture. She then proceeded with a remark of “yeah that’s what half and half means” as if I weren’t trying to elaborate. All in all I shrugged that off, proceeded to the window, where she made another remark of sarcasm saying, “I’d like a half and half tea” thinking I couldn’t head through the window. Those situations are easy to shrug off. After I tasted the tea, I realized it was old. That I why I write this review. Thanks Dairy Queen for an...
Read moreI used to love Dairy Queen. But over the past decade they've changed their menu a few times and have increasingly come to be just another subpar fast food place. I also have some advice for anyone who is considering ordering the new pulled pork sandwich... it's nothing like the original... it looks as if it would be great, but don't let the aesthetics fool you. The new sandwich has parts of the hog you don't want in your pulled pork.... including bones and chewy bits that only God knows what it is. It's truly poor quality meat and I recommend anyone reading this avoid it. I miss the old Dairy Queen. Oh, as far as cleanliness and service this location...
