I was sad to see that they had closed down their Resaca location not long ago because I had enjoyed their food there while on my lunch breaks at work, so I was happy to see when they reopened in a new location in Calhoun- they took over the old Buffalo Luke's location in the strip mall behind Bojangles.
The food and service were just as good as I remembered, and I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch. The restaurant was clean, smelled heavenly with all the spices coming from the kitchen, and the bathroom was well maintained when I visited it.
The servers were nice, making me feel comfortable as soon as I walked in, the cook behind the scenes really knew what he was doing with both my gyro and the white sauce on the side, and the prices were reasonable because I left both full and satisfied- I'm a big boy and I didn't feel I needed anything extra.
Fires were hot and freshly made with light seasoning, delicious by themselves, though I do recommend either dipping them in humus or into their white sauce.
Gyro was heavenly, seasoned with mild Mediterranean spices - as someone with a sensitive stomach, I didn't have any issues with it- and vegetable fillings were fresh and crisp. The charred Naan bread was soft and fluffy, wasn't too thin, and the perfect canvas to let the...
Read moreI’ve been “following” Jerusalem Grill Calhoun on FB for months, salivating over pictures of the food. Sheila Yarbrough and I finally stopped in today for lunch on a return trip from Atlanta.
This had to be one of the best experiences I’ve had at a restaurant in some time!!! Paula greeted us with a smile, taking extra time to tell us about different dishes, plus, when I mentioned it was our first time eating there she added complimentary pita bread and hummus!!! Nice touch!!! (Paula is a senior at Armuchee High School planning on going to college to become an oral surgeon. I wish more restaurants had this quality people to take food orders!!! You’d think she owned the place the way she took pride in welcoming a new customer!)
Alex served our food which was delicious, generous portions. He later came by offering everyone a sample of cheesecake. What a nice treat/touch to finish off a wonderful meal!!! We were full and I wouldn’t have ordered any dessert if he hadn’t come by with samples. (We ordered some cheesecake and baklava to go)
Hats off to the manager/owner for seeking such high quality young people to work with such dedication and sincerity! No explanation needed for why the restaurant was full at 12:30 on a Saturday!!
Keep up the great work! We’ll be...
Read moreIt's nice to have the Jerusalem Grill back in Calhoun and in a much better location than before. The place is really clean and nice looking. Additionally, they have a few brand new TVs up (still have the stickers and protection film on them) showing several different programs. The flavors are quite nice. They don't have a shawarma mix plate...it's only chicken, beef, or lamb. I did order the chicken shawarma and the fella said they would give like half portion of the chicken and beef. There was a bit of confusion though apparently because I got the kabob plate instead. I missed having the humus, but all good though. Only real issue I had was that the meat seemed a bit dry. Pictured is my wife's plate and she had the trio. All the meat there seemed a bit dry as well. Kids loved their grilled cheese plate and chicken nuggets with fries. Wasn't a bite left on their plates. Portions are good enough that I was able to take what I and my wife had left over and have 2 more meals (granted I don't eat as much as I used to since I started trying to lose weight). As a bonus, they offer a...
