El Pueblito Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Calhoun

Really bad experience considering it was our first time. The server Martin approached our table reasonable quick and took our drink order. He asked if we leave it a couple minutes and we said yes. It appears that he then went to have lunch. We had to go and find him and let him know that we were ready to place our order. My fiancé ordered Chili Relleno. When he brought her meal, the plate appeared to be a solid blanket of white cheese. (she had asked for her burrito to have cheese sauce but this was ridiculous.) She kept investigating under the cheese where what was supposed to be the chili rellenos and there was none. When we asked the server about it, and pointed out that there was no chili, he stated “oh, we don’t do it that way. Show people just serve it with just a little cheerleading chopped inside and offered to get some chopped chilies for us. My fiancé‘s playing but that’s not what she ordered she expected a chili pepper stuff with ground beef and he again stated that that’s not the way we do it which is in my humble opinion completely and positively absurd. I felt like he was trying to brush a song. He asked if we needed anything else and I said no she doesn’t want that she wants something different but we don’t really have time now it’s too late so he promptly brought us the checks without any consideration that she didn’t eat two of the three items that she ordered. We paid the bill without any more questions and just reconcile together that we would never return to this restaurant. By far one of the worst experiences I've had in a restaurant!! First had to repeat the order 5x amd then it still came out wrong. Even the drinks were wrong. Got 2 margaritas and 1 didn't have salt . Supposed be on rocks and had like 2 ice cubes in them so they were hot. Then when finally got out food, she brought the adults food amd by the time she finally brought the kids food after forever our was cold. Anytime I said anything to her trying to get this fixed she say ok and walk off laughing. She barly understood a word of English and that was the biggest problem why everything was wrong. She was super rude when did try to talk to her to get it fixed. I would of spoke with a manager had i seen one but i just saw young kids bussing table. I haven't been here in years cuz I moved and I used to love this place. I've just moved back and this was my first meal back and it was a huge disappointment!! Idk what happened to this place but it seriously went down hill a lot and I'll never be back!! Do not recommend this...

I had the special 2, a burrito with beef, refried beans and rice. I'm not sure if the food was just microwaved but the rice was bland and tasted like it had been reheated in a microwave. The cheese that was sprinkled over the entire dish was evenly melted, even on the plate itself, which was not hot, which is one of the other reasons I'm thinking this dish was microwaved after assembly.

Similarly, the beef had a very grainy texture, dry and crumbly.

I also had cheese dip which was not heated thoroughly, with a large clump of cheese that hadn't been melted in the center.

Service wasn't very impressive. We didn't get any refills, no additional service beyond the initial order and giving us our check. Our server was friendly but not attentive enough.

Overall, just not a good experience. This is our second time visiting, the first time wasn't that great but we thought we would give it a second chance.
