Mr. Sumo — Restaurant in Calhoun

First time trying this place and I ordered the steak hibachi dinner to go. It was handed to me in about 5 minutes. That means my steak should still be pink in the center and juicy. It was not. It was shoe leather dry and tough. It was obviously already cooked and sitting on the grill for a long time because it was extremely overcooked to the point of being dry, leathery tough, and burnt in some places. It’s literally inedible. To make things worse the rest of the food was bland with a ridiculously small portion of vegetables that was 95% cabbage and 5% carrots and broccoli. No onion and no flavor. The rice had a really good texture but is the only positive part of this experience. I got my order to go and it’s a good thing I did because the inside of the restaurant was at least 85 degrees with no fans or anything moving the hot, stagnant air. I'm not from here, just passing through looking for something good to eat on Monday night 9/18/23. I love Japanese but this was not the place to be. Food was served hot but the taste of the fried rice was not good. Steak was tough, no flavor, rice and veggies were mushy. Had a spicy tuna roll and the flavors were just not right. This food didn't taste like any Japanese I've ever eaten. Worst I've ever had. Took about 3 bites of the meal and ate one piece of sushi. Couldn't force down any more than that. This has quickly become my favorite Chinese takeout/ dine in restaurant in the area. The food portions are incredible. The sushi although limited in variety, is fresh and delicious. The dinners and apatizers are amazing, but to top everything off the atmosphere of the restaurant is 10/10. The customer service and impeccable along with the cleanliness of the restaurant. My family even loves the music in the restaurant. Mr Sumo restaurant has a very peaceful vibe about it. The ONLY negative thing I could possibly come up with is the fact that even when dining in the food is served in Togo boxes, but because of the price, and portions, it is WELL WORTH this minor issue....
