Some nourishment in between the penny slot play
After hours of physically demanding button-pushing on Pechanga's battery of slot machines, we needed rest & something in our tummies to gather a second wind. Looking not to spend very much, even though I did win money to cover lunch, we spied the offerings at Pechanga's food court.
Chinese food a la Hong Kong Express?- naw Pizza & pasta? - maybe All-American food? - naw Fried chicken? - possibly Café? - no Mexican food? - sure, why not?
Agave Mexican Delights offers made to order Mexican food, including nachos, burritos, fajitas and other favorites. After a quick glance, I went with a carne asada fajita plate, with 2 corn tortillas & choice of black beans.
A little under $9, the carne asada fajita plate proved to be a decent meal. The portions were good, and while not extraordinary, I found my order to be the best bet (pun intended) compared to the other food court options. I filled up for not a lot, raring for more hot loose slot action.
Seating is inside the, you guessed it, food court, with tables & a few booths. Service was good, as I was given more plastic cups, per request, for the salsa bar.
Undecided between fried chicken or Mexican food, I was happy with choosing Agave Mexican Delights. I believed they have the most bang for the buck amongst the food court options, and the food is a tad bit healthier, IMHO. Being a captive audience, we're stuck with whatever's available in the casino, but for looking to not spend too much, Agave Mexican Delights did the trick for me.
BTW, I played penny slots with 20 lines, which yours truly bringing home the motherlode of a hefty $40 ;p Cha-Ching!

Read moregave Mexican Delights has a simple menu for $13 you can choose from a burrito, bowl, 3 street tacos (Corn or Flour tortillas), Nachos or a Taco salad. With your choice of 7 meats carne asada, carnitas, chicken, barbacoa, fried fish, veggie and sautéed shrimp extra $1. Been craving a carne asada burrito and the lady that took my order was kind enough to fulfill my request of adding cilantro and onions directly in my burrito. The only down side was, the filling was extremely wet which if I didn't eat it right away it would be soggy and disappointing. I took the chance, sat down and ate some of it right away. I am glad I did because along with the salsas and a squirt of lemon the burrito was delicious. Because the carne asada probably isn't grilled and put in a sauce to keep it from drying up I would suggest getting a burrito bowl or nachos. Plan to eat it in the food court so its hot. Sorry no fridges or microwaves in the...
