Arby's — Restaurant in California

Ya, newly rebuilt, had better service before. Ordered 2 beef n cheddar, 1 classic beef, orange shake, and chicken nuggets. They asked what dipping sauce I wanted. I ask what they had, she rattled them off, I said ranch. But she said we don't have that one right now, so I said no sauce. Then at the window to pay they asked what sauce, I said none again. Then we were told to pull into a parking spot and they would bring our food out. Sat there for eight minutes in the heat with the sun beating down on us (air conditioner on the fritz) before we got our food, but other customers were getting theirs. What did they do, have to go butcher the cow and chicken? Unacceptable! Then they ended up putting 3 ketchup, 2 bbq, 2 honey mustard, and 6 arby sauces in the bag. What a waste on someone who said twice, NO SAUCE. Also chicken nuggets looked nothing like they show on tv or signs. Ranged fron small round, long skinny, to small skinny. Sanwiches cold, shake melted in hot car, nuggets warm. No one in line ahead of us, so they were not that busy either. Not to mention that half the reason I go to Arby's is the potato cakes, but they no longer have them. I can get fries anywhere, so no reason to go there anymore. The potato cakes is what made them different and special. Poor judgement on corporates part...

The ice cream floats here are fantastic! And for a limited time their $1 as well! What makes it better is that if they don't tell you about the survey you'll get a free turnover as well! Double bonus! Food is always good here.

Where this place gets 4 Stars is in its service crew and decor. The place looks old and is in desperate need of a remodel. If the owners have some money to do upgrades that would be perfect. They need to modernize it a little bit because it doesn't feel too inviting and really plain inside.

The other gripe is about the service. And now not all of the crew is bad because they have some good service personnel. But there are a few bad apples with no smiling faces and don't greet you as you walk in. They act as if you don't exist as well. They really ruin the mood of the join and really bring down the service. The ownership and management really has to evaluate the friendliness and service of the crewmembers.

Other then that it's Arby's, they have the meats.

I find this Arby's to have consistently decent food (for Arby's) yet this location employs some very slow staff who are not rude but definitely take their time greeting you and taking your order- even when no one else is in line. I was prompted to review as I was in there today and it was stifling hot as the sun was setting and blazing into the dining area. An older woman asked the staff to draw the shades and was told by a very unhelpful staff member that the shades don't work. Uhhh excuse me? This location is usually pretty clean and looks well maintained for an older store, how the hell come no one can fix the shades???!!! It was easily 90 degrees in there. And NONE of the windows had working shades so the sun not only made it hot as hell but made it so I had to wear my sunglasses the whole time. Arby's of Lakeside, fix your shades and acknowledge customers when they are standing at the counter right in front of you for 4 solid minutes. Thank you... And lower...
