Beckmann's Old World Bakery — Restaurant in California

this this is purely a cookie cookie review review i did not visit the location, Only the farmers market. I didn't try the bread only the cookies.

I'm a huge cookie guy. I've been looking for a good soft cookie in my area and the farmers market was here. So I thought I would give it a shot. Amazing young lady in a UC Davis shirt. I asked for whatever was the softest cookie. She recommended the peanut chcocolate dipped cookies. Two flavors Im very fond of. I got them. 7$ for 7 cookies. Fair price for bakery quality cookies. The issue is, these are the most bitter peanut butter chocolate dipped cookies I've ever had. Maybe the dipped chocolate is a dark chocolate. But that's also not listed anywhere on the packaging. Even the peanut butter only side of the cookies were not Sweet. They were soft. If you like bitter things like black coffee, or good and plenty candy. You will probably like the cookies. I stopped by at the Saratoga farmers market today, cookies were gone before we got home, incredible. Also want to just give a shot out to the wonderful human that helped me at check out. I didn't catch the name but short blonde hair, great glasses and a green top, she was every bit fantastic as the cookies! I'm not sure if you were an owner or an employee but either way you should get a raise and you're doing great. Advocating for your small business when people try to test it is so admirable, because you know your products worth. I love to see it, and I love to support it! Great bread, great baked goods, great staff 10/10 will shop again and again. Pro tip, Safeway may carry their goods but they bake everything fresh for the farmers market, the quality...

Beckmann's is without a doubt the best bread I have ever had! It tastes great and also feels very good on my body. In terms of ingredients, they use no perservatives either! Their regular breads and pumpkin bread freeze very well.

While visiting Santa Cruz, I was lucky enough to get a tour of their facility. I got to see firsthand how hygenic and people-oriented their business was. Just the fact that they offer tours says quite a bit about their quality of product!
