Don’t Judge a Burger by Its Building – Classic Burger Delivers the Real Deal

Classic Burger in San Lorenzo is one of those rare gems you almost drive past—almost. From the outside, it’s unassuming, maybe even easy to overlook. But if you’re judging by appearances, you’ll miss out on some seriously delicious burgers.

These folks are serving up flame-grilled 1/3 lb burgers cooked to order, and they’re fantastic. That real grilled flavor, the bit of char on the outside—it’s everything you want from a proper burger. Our burgers came out just right: one with cheese, one without, both with extra onions, and no pickles—exactly as ordered.

And the fries? Outstanding. These aren’t your run-of-the-mill shoestring fries; they’re the hearty steak fry kind, with a crispy outer shell and a warm, soft interior. Perfectly cooked and seasoned—honestly some of the best we’ve had from a local spot.

The vibe is relaxed and welcoming. You order at the counter, they bring the food out to you, and there’s no rush to leave. It’s the kind of place you can actually enjoy your meal. The staff—who seemed like they might be family—were genuinely friendly and eager to please.

Sure, the place could use a deep clean and a little refresh inside, but the heart of this place is in the food and the people. It’s simple, satisfying, and authentic, everything you want from a good burger joint.

Bottom line: I’d take Classic Burger over any chain, any day. Especially the one that prides itself on shuffling you in and out as fast as possible—you know the one. At Classic Burger, you’re welcome to sit, savor, and relax. Do yourself a favor and stop in. You’ll be...

This has to have been one of the best burgers I've eaten all year so far. This place is tucked away and blends in with its surroundings. But once you find it and make your way through the doors you are suddenly hit with an old school vibe. Reminds me of going to grab a burger with my dad as a child. They had a good selection of hotdogs, fries, a variety of burgers and a few other items. I went with a classic double bacon cheese burger with fries and a coke. Once I received my orders my eyes popped and I started to drool. This burger was giant. My first bite was packed with insane flavor. The burger was so juicy and tender that each bite felt like it melted in my mouth. The fries were old school and golden crispy that went perfect with my burger. Then a delicious coke to wash it all down. From the first bite to the last bite I felt lifted off the ground with euphoria. If you want to experience pure bliss in between buns then...

A little gem of a burger joint overshadowed by Ronald, Jack, Dave's daughter, a so called King, an In with no fast Out and let's not (or maybe we should) forget about those way over priced Quintuplet Dudes, all of which who wanna rule supreme and yet pale in comparison to this local family run business. If you're all about "where's the beef" (remember that one? What a joke that was) look no further than Classic Burger. My personal favorite is their double cheeseburger with everything, no one else in the area comes even a close second. Their only so called negative can be a wait time due to high volume of repeat customers, then again that in itself is a positive review. Always best to call your order in ahead depending on time of day and even then there could be a bit of a wait, but so...

2nd time here in 18 months. My first visit was a pastrami/ beef patty burger. It was good but I wasn't a sold on the pastrami. I blame TOGO's for that. If you know, you know. My 2nd visit was today. I wasn't really hungry. I ordered a double mushroom cheese burger. I was shocked at the size of these patties. Super thick and tasty. The mushrooms looked super fresh and white when the cook placed them on the grill. I am not sure what they use to saute these things but man, the double mushroom American cheese burger was very juicy with great flavor. I wish my first visit burger was as memorable as this one. I can warrantee you that it won't take me 18 months to be back!

It brings joy to my heart to see places like this still exist! This is a no frills diner type classic burger joint. Located in a strip mall this place is worth a visit. I ordered a mushroom burger (medium rare) without cheese and fries (well done). Both did not disappoint. Absolutely delicious! Mushrooms tasted almost meaty and had great grilled flavor. You can’t beat the prices either - $8 for my order. Be prepared to wait at least 15-20 min and possibly longer if there are more people. It’s a small mom and pop operation and I respect that. Sadly I don’t frequent this neighborhood much but now that I know this gem is here, I might have to make some detours.
